Anybody that has driven an A2 version of ANY HEMTT varient knows a moped or could win a drag race against it! Takes forever to get up to speed and slows down just the same. I was a wrecker operator and drove the m984a2 and when you are towing a truck hauling a$$ down the highway... let's just say hold on and pray you slow down without your gear slamming against the windshield

Former ARMY 92F here . I used to drive the fuel version of the Hemtt tons of fun. The "window" on the floor is actually a water gauge, truck can go in water as deep as that window (about 4 ft) safely. Engine is also a 2 stroke diesel. I miss driving those!

@@TheHoonigans i used to flip those hemtt tires with 3 piece beadlock rims changing the tires out all day long as a mechanic they weight closer to 660lbs a piece give or take 20lbs. I even had to flip them and change them out while waiting for knee surgery to reattach my acl that was severed on both ends in one knee by myself without any lifting devices.

The deciding factors would be which hemtt variant you use as the A4 uses a newer Cat Acert 4 stroke turbo diesel engine vs the old Detroit Diesel 8 cylinder 2 stroke diesel engine, whether the vehicles were fully loaded or empty, and what can get better traction on the terrain

I used to do the 200m in under 28 seconds, under 14 for the 100meters and under 48seconds for the 400meters, so approx 21 seconds for 500ft. now, 30 years latter I am retired and use a stick, a Carbon Fibre Hiking stick, because that's how I roll. Former heavy wheel mechanic here. Those Detroit Diesel motors in the HEMTT have a turbo charger on top of a supercharger. Also, the front and/or rear main seals WILL blow after about 100-200 engine hours...
