If anyone is tuning in for the first time, you would be privileged to own a vehicle that this man has worked on. Amazing, thorough mechanic. I’ve been working in cars all my life and I learn something new every time we are lucky enough for him to upload a video. Cheers

I am not ready for this challenge of dropping, fixing and reinstalling my tank. Hopefully i can gather up the courage to start, now that i have all the pertinent information. thanks a bunch.

Just watched this video. Great choice replacing the sending unit. I just replaced my original one on my 69 when I installed MSD Fuel Injection. When removing the fuel hose from the unit, I cracked the factory soft solder seal where the pickup tube goes thru the sealing disc. They crimped the tube in place and then lead soldered the joint to seal it. With fuel in the crack there is no way you can resolder it and you would burn the two electrical connection seals too. I know this is all factory because I am the only owner of the car. Be careful removing or installing the hose onto the steel tubing because the replacement ones are made the same way. Should have been furnace brazed, but that costs $.

I wouldn’t put THAT gas tank back in my Corvette. It’s been leaking for years. Exact replacement tanks are readily available and not break-the-bank expensive. Replace the in-tank filter too.

@briansweet49772 жыл бұрын
@@ProblemSolverGarage Thanks for the great video. Tank Sticker is in reference to the manufacturer leaving a spec sheet with the car. In this case they left a piece of paper on top or around the gas tank on C3's. Somewhat valuable if found with the car. Looks like your tank was pulled previously so that guy has it.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they even want to slow down all the gas pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. Called Bundesabgasbespaßungsverordnung in German.... :-(
