I also wanted to ask what oil pan and cross member did you go with
@pauldolan14932 жыл бұрын
Holley 302-2 is their LS swap pan specifically for 68-72 A body. On the trans mount I modified the original mount. When I boxed frame and added angle iron as new support rails I had to narrow down the mount. Used stock 4L60e mount and relocated the crossmember to fit

@@pauldolan1493 hey paul you rock! Thanks for the replies this is going to be a great help…… i gotta ask, do you regret selling this beauty ever? Haha

@@brianmartinez4494 thanks man, only sold it a couple of weeks ago. It did not get the love out on the marketplace I thought it would. What I kept hearing was a general disappointment it wasn’t sporting an LS3. Seems the internet had got buyers thinking that’s the only way to go. Was actually getting ready to make that change and up the price of course when I met a couple looking for a driver. They both drove the car and bought it two days later. I love what I built and was always building it to sell so I’m ok. I think. If I ever get too regretful, I can tear back into the first Chevelle and upgrade some things there. Hoping to get some new content about that and a whole new build I just started a few days ago. Thanks again and good luck with your project

What headers were you running in this? Im doing same set up, link if possible please!
@pauldolan14932 жыл бұрын
Sorry, just saw this. Again, Holley Hooker Headers. Long tube 1-3/4” down to a 3” collector. Comes with one bung on each side for O2 sensors. Don’t forget to add one at least for wide band o2 sensor. your tuner will appreciate it

What chassis wiring kit did you use? a pre made kit or aftermarket universal?
@buildanother68chevelle754 жыл бұрын
Neither. All original parts from the donor Tahoe for all things engine, trans, and PCM. Of course I had to lengthen and shorten wiring to relocate the computer. For lights, and turn signals the car’s harness was usable. Honestly, this part is the fun part for me. Ryan at Sinister Performance does a great basic tune when I sent him the computer. He also will sell you exact detailed diagram for how to wire it all. Very reasonable pricing. This was my second one with him and there’s something completely satisfying about not using an aftermarket harness when I can repurpose the original one. Thanks for the question.

@@buildanother68chevelle75 looks like a clean setup, like the idea of the panel in the glovebox. I’m going carbed big block and 4 speed so don’t need to worry about engine wiring. But the rest of the wiring in the car is hacked. I’ve done 4 or 5 complete harnesses in a few cars using ez wiring and another brand I can’t think of. Wondering if I should spend the extra money this time around and go with a pre made kit for my model (70 Monte)

@@nategarlic8868 Thanks. A lot of effort for sure. Next one I’ll leave relay and fuses in the glovebox but get the computer into the console for easier access. If I hadn’t had a working harness for the car I would use one from Painless. They seem to have it dialed in for kits and their directions seem awesome.
