Headed to the 68th annual Autorama on Friday evening, at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. There were many custom and original cars I would like there. I tried to show all the Riddler finalist. Anyway, here is my video of the Autorama. I did notice a lot of others videoing, maybe for there KZbin channel.
If you wish to photograph or video the event, there is a lot less people in attendance on Friday, than Saturday or Sunday. It opens at noon on Friday.... I got there about 5pm, and was there until about 8:30pm.
Maybe.... just maybe, next year, IF I still have the Galaxie, I will enter it, even tho I dislike entering cars into shows.
If you like my video, hit the like button.
If you like my channel, please subscribe, and thank you for watching.

@OldCarAlley
@OldCarAlley 4 жыл бұрын
Dave put it back together with new lifters, and the intake leak fixed.... still ran bad. He's taking it to another engine rebuilder, to check it out. Maybe a tooth off valve timing. or maybe a bad cam grind.... who knows. We will find out tho. The place he has it now, will dyno run the engine, before reinstalling it.

By the way, the old "Packard Proving Grounds" in Utica (22 Mile and Van Dyke area) has a big car show every year. I think for a fee, you can drive on the track with your classic. I drove the Bel Air on the test track... many many years ago.

Hey, didn't you say you detest car shows? I seem to recall you saying it was like watching paint dry. Correct me if I'm wrong, ha ha. No big. You must have done what Tricky Dick Nixon used to do and say he "mis-spoke". BTW, this was a great video. Love all those original and custom cars.
@OldCarAlley
@OldCarAlley 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I very much dislike "entering cars" into shows.... I don't mind going, looking then leaving. When you enter a show, your kinda stuck there all day, and it can get very boring. When I use to go, I would sit and think about the things I could be doing, other than nothing. Plus I am not into PAYING money to someone, thats charging money, to look at my car. Even charity shows, someone is lining there pocket. Only one dollar needs to got to a charity, to state it's a charity show, here in Michigan. The last show I entered a car in was, a good 25 or 30 years ago. It was a charity benefit show for Leader Dog for the Blind. The host (won't mention his name) of the show pocketed nine out of every ten dollars, from that show. Thats not uncommon. For that reason, I no longer enter shows! Cruise nights.... yes. There FREE, and it's come and go as you wish. No one is lining there pocket off my classic car at them either. I know a lot of others in the car hobby, that don't enter cars into shows for the very same reason.

@@OldCarAlley Our car club, Pioneer Antique Auto Club from Parkersburg, WV, has chartered a bus and made the trip for several years. This was my fifth trip. We arrive Friday about 2 PM and stay until 7PM I believe. We spend the night then return early Saturday morning and then head out around 4PM. Makes for a fun trip and that is about all us "old folks" can stand. We have also visited the GM Heritage Center and The Henry Ford Museum some years.
