Every car modeler has gotten glue on the window at least once - You have officially joined the club LOL👍

Thank you. Oh no I've been part of that club for ever. Just started using mod poge since I saw other guys using it. Just brain farted with the rear view mirror.

😂🤣😂 gotta watch those naps. I lay down for an hour and some how lose half a day. A really nice tape is the light purple scotch delicate surface tape at home depot. I use a LOT of tamiya tape, but for large areas the purple delicate surface does a great job. If you want to use CA glue for tings like that mirror, bob smith super gold + is a bit pricier, but it is non-fuming and clear part safe. Also safe for foam if you ever do a diorama using eps or xps foam or something. I foud out the hard way regular CA glue and foam absolutely hate each other 😂 Honestly it looks pretty good. Glass can be a real pain in the @$$ and is usually stressful for me. I was putting the glass in the mustang while watching. Well deserved sundae!

Nice work Joe, never fails. Thanks for the shoutout buddy. I haven't gotten your card yet, well, didnt before I left for work yesterday. Hopefully soon. Glass is stressful. I tried something new last time with the UV resin. Took 60 seconds for the glass to set. Love that stuff.
@modelbuildingcorner2 ай бұрын
Thanks Pat I've seen the uv resin before. I will have to get some.

Glass is always fun, if I can set it in place without it moving I’ll tack a corner or two with two part epoxy. Otherwise it’s mod podge

Good tip on the glass. Thanks Paul.

There’s no happy medium with kit glass parts…its either a half inch wide sprue attachment point that creases the whole windshield when you take it off, or it falls off and flops around the box getting scratched up.
@modelbuildingcorner2 ай бұрын
You got that right buddy!

Joe Try canopy glue. It setup faster than Mod Podge . Hobby lobby has it in the glue section for models. Just let it set up to the point it gets tacky, then apply the part.

Put quick shine on it that will take away the fog. Works on chrome too.

Like you, I’m not a big fan of Modge Podge (SP?). I bought some Elmer’s clear school glue to try on windows. I’ve read that it doesn’t fog over, so I’m going to try it with a sacrificial model before using it on my Camaro build that I’m working on now. I don’t know if you have tried it but if you have please share your results and maybe it’ll save me from doing something stupid.
@modelbuildingcorner2 ай бұрын
Thanks buddy. I have used Elmer's before back in the day. It won't ruin anything, but same as mod podge it takes forever to set up and isn't very strong. Glass has fallen out long after a build was on the shelf.
