Hi there Atticus - I have a terrible chest cold and I’m just recovering from half way through gene therapy for lymphoma cancer that’s settled right inside my lung. I’ll make it but I’m miserable. I can’t sleep and when I saw your new video here, I nearly cried with joy. I used to listen to all my dad’s Alaska adventures moose hunting here in SE so it feels like listening to a relative. It’s miserable to type but I had to thank you for this. Merry Christmas. 🎄

When I was 12 years old, my dad and I went deer hunting at our camp in the Pennsylvania mountains. I was not very excited to be a hunter but I figured I would do it to make the old man happy. We were walking down a long stretch of road with a corn field on our left and thick terrain with beds of laurel that my dad said the deer liked laying down in on our right side. After tramping through the laurel for about 20 minutes, my dad said, "Oh well, we got here too late, let's head back to camp" We started back up the road that we came in on. After we had gone 40 yards we looked back behind us and our jaws nearly hit the ground. Right then, a huge 8 foot Black Bear walked out onto the road right at the spot where we had just exited the laurel beds. We stared at it through our scopes for a minute, then moved swiftly towards camp. It took me a couple years to realize the amount of danger that we were actually in that day and more so, the amount of danger my old man had put us in. Please Dads, remember who you're with when you take your young sons into the woods to hunt. Just because you're hunting deer, it doesn't mean that the other dangerous animals are taking the season off. So remember, have fun, be safe and remember that 12 year old who's the least experienced hunter is out there with you, relying on you to make good decisions.

It amazes me that it seems some hunters have no sense. Muzzle loader in bear country is asking for trouble or try to entice a bear by screaming and the wonder why the bear attacked. The stories are great I do like to hear about the good bad and hindsight. Merry Christmas stay safe, warm/cool, and blessings.

I am impressed with how you tell these stories using photos and some videos of bears and other animals involved in each story. The first story was interesting to me because these experienced hunters with a guide set up an elaborate plan to take down this bear. Your attention to detail was what made this particular episode very moving as I was sad for more than the tragic death of Ray, the guide. I was thinking that this Grizzly was not stalking either man or did not attack out of a surprise encounter with these guys. This bear was going about his business preparing a moose he found had been shot and was in his territory. For an experienced guide Ray should not have used himself as "bait". Was he trying too hard to please the hunters who hired him? When the bear didn't respond they pushed too hard. They may have become too complacent when this sleepy bear took too long to arouse. I spent two summers in Alaska and have talked to a few guides, and they tell me what the biggest mistake hunters do is let down their guard. After all this is "bear country". Of course, like you have mentioned a few times a person doesn't have to travel too far from any town or city in Alaska to end up spotting a bear. Thank you again for a scary story on a cold winter day 2024. Stay safe everyone.

I absolutely love scary bear attacks, but recently I have noticed you showing dead animal pics. I humbly ask you don't do that. It really isn't necessary to the program and it makes me, as I'm sure some others as well very upset. I normally avoid any vids with dead, injured or in distress animals, (humans too). It's your show and obviously your choice, I just wanted to let you know how I feel about it. You have done a wonderful job with your channel and I have enjoyed it very much for years, I'd truly like to continue doing so. Thank you. MERRY CHRISTMAS !

What a sick and demented thing to think when you see a beautiful Grizzly Bear "That would be a GREAT trophy mounted on my wall" But it's not acceptable when bears attack humans and we need to "Deal with them" when they do that? That's twisted AF. Humans are truly awful.

I'll tell you why... because humans are no more than a herd of brainless mainstream media fed sheeple with a god complex. it's ok though, they are slowly being hunted and lured into their own trap. the ironic thing about it, is that they know it's happening, yet do nothing
@Songbird_USA
@Songbird_USA 7 ай бұрын
@@babybear2395 I understand and respect your opinion on hunting for "trophies" because I share this same opinion. What caused me to comment however is your callous reply of, "If you're still confused, maybe it's time to sober up a little." I'm not understanding why that remark was necessary. Everyone here is entitled to have their own opinions and each one should be accorded the same level of respect even if they go against your own. In this case, the comment only asked a question but yet the response you gave was a direct attack onto the one asking the question. That was ridiculously uncalled for. Within this upload, there were several accounts relayed that all dealt on the same topic. It would be very easy to miss or misunderstand something said. I'm only commenting here about this because I felt it completely unfair to attack someone else just for asking a question. I'm hoping that nothing I have said offends anyone, as that is definitely not my intent. Happy holidays and may you be blessed with a healthy and happy new year. 🎶🐦🇺🇸
