69 Mustang Mach1 under the dash repairs

New radio, front speakers, speedo cable, circuit board, VR, clock for my 69 Mach1

Job well done young man! I just completed my rebuild of my factory tach cluster assembly as well. Pretty much did the exact same thing but I bought 4 of those plastic insulators since they were fairly reasonably priced. Beautiful car by the way! I have a Black Jade 1969 Mach 1, M code.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, i had the same problem, replace circuit board, and could understand WHY I LOST FUEL, & TEMP, Also my power lead ( PINK ONE) got really HOT,,,,, Your the only one know that said if your temp and fuel ( TOUCH) the housing, it would short out,, called all over ,,, CJs/ NPD/ All where i got my parts,, NO HELP WHAT SO EVER,,, I traced lines, tearing out wiring,, THinking What the F,,,Had them before i change circuit board,, Thanks to you,,, Your right, DO NOT LET THEM STUDS FROM FUEL& TEMP touch the housing,, ITS OK NOW,,, THAT WAS THE PROBLEM,,, THANK YOU AGAIN

I had the same problem with the Scott Drake speedometer cable! Ended up just taping it on to stay in place. Couldn't salvage my old cable because it had a burned through the outer rubber shielding.

I'm going to try modifying the new cable housing so that it will lock on. I'll post the solution if it works out.

Had that same problem when I replaced my printed circuit board Took me like a month to find out that the gauges can't touch the housing

I found the Scott Drake concours speedo cable to fit perfectly. Also, in regards to the gauge posts not being centered, a short can also be caused by the backing of the circuit board being too thin. This was the case for me. I fixed this by placing a thin piece of plastic under the section where the fuel/temp gauge posts are.

do you do any repair service on the dash clocks?? asking because I can't find anyone who works on them at all and i have been looking for a long time!! everything now is digital and my dash is orig and not set up for anything else!! SO if you do any repair service or could help me out it would be so appreciated!! it was working then stopped then started and stopped againg and has not worked since!! THANK YOU!!!

I’m restoring a Mach 1 Mustang. 1970. Yet I’ve been told the bezel clusters come in black, or wood grain. The one I bought one on eBay. So are the plain black plastic bezels that look like they go in all regular mustangs, a Mach 1 if it doesn’t say Mach 1? Should the numbers reflect a Mach 1 dash verses just any dash? Thanks for your video. You might also know who I need to talk to.

All Mach1's have the deluxe interior with wood grain and most of the standard interior parts will not fit your car. Ray

@@RayJay Thanks. Yes I've found out that what I bought is not for mach 1. Lots of people on eBay listing in the subject line that these parts are for, mach 1, as well and they are not. I spent hours sending them all information so they could remove the added mach 1 key word that people are searching for. And finding their basic car parts.

@@RayJay Thk you buddy. Everyone on Ebay is saying this basic cluster they are selling is for mach 1. What a mess of crazy people who do not do research but indeed try to move parts they are not even aware of the proper fit to. Seems like my mach 1 would accept lots of basic parts used on mustang. Right? Or wrong? Going to be an expensive restoration if I cannot get a break on some of the parts.

Hi Robert, wish that I could help you but my Mach1 came with rocker moldings from the factory with all the plastic clips already installed. Hope that you can find someone else to help you with this. Take care, Ray

Do you have anything on replacing speedometer?

My speedometer has been working fine so there is nothing about replacing it in my videos. Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Ray
