I was chilling at home with my friends waiting for the results, we were ALL expecting this ravishing young man to win......and to our unfortunate surprise when he didnt, we were all literally speechless for the rest of the night! Yes! And it was the George Michael’s version 🥹 This was the best moment of that finale, where this David should’ve won 💫 I saw a video of him sing the full song a couple of years ago when he was invited to someone else’s concert (can’t remember who it was) and he was even better!!

I think it wasn't a justified outcome. David Archuleta is way better..Come he received more accolades from the crowds then David Cook. I'd pay to see David Archuleta perform. I like David Cook, but David Archuleta should have won. He was the best singer on the show. As usual the girls voted for the boy next door instead of the best performer.

no, he wasn't the best singer. He's incredible now, but he didn't have the technique that Cook did. He's got a beautiful voice, always has, but he wasn't "fully baked" yet. If you listen to the top 24, Archuleta's voice is entirely in the back of his mouth, which works for a short time but eventually tires you out, and isn't good for your throat or soft pallete. Cook, meanwhile, sounds a lot like some Broadway singers, like Norbert Leo Butz, in that his voice is much further forward, and allows him to project without straining his throat, and he's figured out how to get the "gravelly" sound that often accompanies strain, without the actual strain. Also, any time a singer has to put an "h" sound before a vowel, like "ohohohohoh' in riffs, it's a sign of lack of breath support, and Archuleta uses them all over the place, especially in his "Imagine" performance. His high notes were unsupported, and most of his sustained notes lost juice at the end, since he couldn't sustain them. Basically, Archuleta had talent without any idea how to make it his own, and Cook may not have been as talented, but he knew how to use it and stylize his voice. At the time Cook was the better singer. But I've just seen Archuleta live and he is incredible now, he learned everything he was lacking before. For example, his "Another Day in Paradise," he hit all the notes but a lot of them were unsteady, and when I saw him he sang "Don't Let the Sun Go Down On Me," and had one of the most steady voices I've ever heard, like Broadway caliber.

Tough song to sing. Eltons voice is so hard to compete with
