The clicking noise, is that pretty common with the z50s? I have a 91 z50r has a slight tick timing is correct and valves adjusted to spec.

Yes the valvetrain does make some tapping noise within reason

@VintageHondaMinis okay thanks, I thought maybe cam chain and tensioner were going out. I bought everything to do a rebuild to be on safe side. Including piston and new rings.
