I actually prefer the white date wheel, it looks more symmetrical with the 9 o'clock marker. But this is a very personal thing.

Great comparison. I'm already sold on the DH, but have been consuming content before ordering. Wish I'd have had an interest in the original models with the full ring of color. The 1970s available now to buy have only 1/4 of the dial colored (orange). Minor, and 100% personal preference. Might look proper with a NATO with just a touch of orange as well. Thanks for taking the time to give an honest, brass-tacks comparison. Great content 👍

The Dan Henry reminds me a bit of my Zodiac Sea Wolf with the orange accents, but I'm a bigger fan of the Spinnaker.

Thanks for the review. I felt like adding some info on the DH: - Date: The DH 1970 is a near-exact clone of the late 60s Exactus Supercompressor - which had a white date wheel. There is a no-date option. The original Exactus was only 36 mm in size though. - Strap: I like the original tropic strap for its vintage style and wearing comfort. I never experienced the slightest inconvenience with it. I don't feel a bracelet suits the watch well, particularly not a generic oyster style. If anything, I would consider a stylistically more consistent mesh bracelet. I have a generation two Dan Henry, orange sector, plain hands, no date, 40 mm case, crazy lume which is the perfect size for my 175 mm wrist. My only complaint about it is its blue AR coating which dulls the dial's beautiful color scheme. I agree that the Bradner looks better on you; maybe try the DH on a proper strap.

Both seem solid, nice side-by-side. I got the blue Bradner, and head over heels atm.

The blue sunburst dial Bradner is indeed a looker. Congrats on owning it.

I've got the Spinnaker in that exact style and it's a stunning watch, but I'm also tempted by the DH as that looks the part too. I completely agree that if the DH was a 42mm dial it would have been much better, I normally find anything under a 42mm too small and thinking of going for the 44mm. Fantastic review by the way really informative.

neither got it right. 42mm bradner with a 20mm band? And the DH is 40mm with a 22mm strap...

You could have pulled off the 44mm in my opinion.

The Bradner looks better on your wrist, by a mile.

Good points but if I’m honest I think I would swerve both watches . Just my personal choice . But I think on names only Dan Henry is the old Dj trick of 2 Cristian names verses brad er is that a nail guns name .....great vid clear and audible

Can you sell me the orange dan henry 1979, love this watch but I was too late to buy it. Hope you can help a poor soul out.

You’re kidding me. You can buy the Dan Henry in bulk?! Then the DH is just a cheap manufactured Chinese fashion watch.

@@karamelahi2808 These are either fake or the Chinese factory that makes DH nicked his design and releases plain versions. The same place sells what looks like a no-brand version of the Oris Aquis. Or they are basically saying, if you want bulk of a watch that looks like this, we can make it. Chances are though, the watch you'd get wouldn't look as good as the DH. DH watches are made in China, he was always clear about it. That's the only way to make them as such low cost. I have one of his chronos, totally worth the money.
