I am a professional trombonist that adopted a cat. I was concerned about him and so I introduced it in a way that would not scare him. I used to read to my cat and she though her kittens to read They can also open and close cabinets and doors and love to push/pull buttons,levers,and switches Recently We got a new dryer with a touch pad and my mom left the instruction booklet in front of them and after a minute of reading the cat started to push the buttons and started the dryer My mom was shocked and I respondef "Yeah, the cats thought each other how to read,dont leave out anything you dont want them reading" (its been 6 generation of cats now,my Cat's great,great,great Grandson read the manual then started the dryer then was fiddling with the tempature) My cat prefered to watch t.v.,change the channel,or turn of the T.V. or computer when we weren't paying attention to her...also was googling bird pictures on the computer 😏 Its just a cats ability to learn to mimic its "Ma"(Mom),"Ma-roo"(Uncle/Aunt) or "Mau"(Elder).....whether cat,other animal,or human (Chirp will sound like " Ma-roo" or "Mau" when cat addresses you as how they see you) Actual Piano lessons would have worked in theory Some Cats are more capable then others in learning non cat things...like Charades body language for communicating and understanding conversational English (always made my cat "SIGH"when she would only meow at me without Charades and I complain "how many times I have to tell you I can't understand you if you only speak cat?"

Adult cat's are as smart as a two year old human child. They are social with humans probably because we are interesting to them. They want to be like us. My cat mimics me she also tries to things for me, she gets upset when she can't. I have conversations with her too. She understands above average language because I have taught her from a kitten. I also share everything with her. You have to be willing to sacrifice for a cat. They need social interactions to teach them how to feel at home in their environment.
