No, it's not a typo, although the city of Texarkana is also located in this area. The States of Texas, Arkansas, and Louisiana form the southeastern triangle of the Union Pacific Network. Weather-wise, it is also the southeastern edge of Tornado Alley (and southwestern corner of Dixie Alley), which one is easily made aware of during a visit in the month of March. In this video, we visit four UP subdivisions in these three states: the Monroe, Reisor, Little Rock, and Pine Bluff Subs and watch various trains with remarkable color mixes. The indisputable favorite of the author is a westbound manifest with Ferromex doubleheader. Enjoy!
Note: This video has been recorded and produced in 4k Ultra-HD resolution.

Laredo [As I went walkin' the streets of Laredo....' to Detroit? That's a long haul. Must be coming up out of Mexico because there's no port, much less access to the Gulf, in Laredo, Tx. Great video, and yeah, those wall clouds can sometimes become extremely and capriciously volatile. You do good work!

Well, these trips are actually short (less than a week), but action-packed. I don't have much time for this hobby either. The cloud was scary and there were indeed several tornado reports on this day. Developing extreme weather is interesting to watch, but not while being out railfanning lol.

Thanks mbmars for this video. There are many different trains to watch on the video plenty to look at. I was interested in one of the trains which had white tank cars do you know what was in them. Ferromex and Kansas City Southern have some of the best colors on their engines. Some of the up and down track reminded of the roller coaster back your way in Georgia. I really enjoyed this on my new iPad. I appreciate your videos

Great video as always. The next time you make a trip to Texas, check out Houston's Fifth ward, so many trains, it will make your head spin, literally. There's a yard in Houston for UP, in addition you have BNSF, KCS, that come through, its a massive interlocking, a train between 15-30 minutes where I railfanned at, this was back in 2014 though. I also have a question, how would you go about getting the ID's for Union Pacific Trains, its a question I always wanted to know from a fellow railfan, feel free to message me privately if need be.
@mbmars01
@mbmars01 5 жыл бұрын
Dallas would have been a busy alternative and closer to where I was in Texas. However, I don't like railfanning in cities, because one is basically nailed to one spot and cannot chase. The train IDs are a combination of information I got by friends familiar with UP and by researching the internet. I think they are all correct, but I would not bet on all of them.

Well done brother and I loved this channel because the reason why the Union Pacific is coming passed is because the Union Pacific was doing a best job with these freight trains my friend but even sometimes Pacific National American freight trains we had less containers on my way to the station but especially I don't know why we had less containers God bless you and God bless your family as well

Can you add the power units birth date to info? I have no clue on how old units are and how long they can last. Thanks for sharing your passion.
@mbmars01
@mbmars01 5 жыл бұрын
I sometimes do add information about the age of a locomotive, but only if it's really old. Otherwise it's rather simple to guess the age: General Electric's Dash-7 dates back to the 1970s, Dash-8 to the 1980s, Dash-9 and AC4400CW to the 1990s. Then they introduced the Evolution Series in the early 2000s, ES40DC/ES44DC and ES44AC, the latter still being in production (as a Tier 4 credit unit). In 2015, the Tier 4 compliant locomotive ET44AC was introduced. EMD's history is more diverse because of the many design problems they had, which caused them to fall behind GE concerning reliability. As of now, the oldest (and among the most reliable) engines on the roads are the SD40-2s, which were first produced in the early 1970s (until the end of the 1980s, but some have been rebuilt into SD40-3s recently). The more successful models thereafter were the SD70Ms (1990s) and the more modern AC traction variants SD70MAC (1990s) and SD70ACe (2000s and 2010s). The most modern Tier 4 compliant engine is the SD70ACe-T4 which became available only very recently.

19:27 to 19:34. I know that all train horns aren't the same and are all different but the horn on this train sounds like it's lost one it's notes or chimes. (If anyone knows I would greatly accept an answer/explanation.)

Cool, one day I want to go and chase some nice clouds. I don't think they do anything special regarding a flat spot. Once regular maintenance of a railcar is due, it gets fixed.
