Actually in Ontario cops cannot enforce the HTA on private property (parking lots) unless they were given permission by the owner of the parking lot. You can run stop signs all you want, and they can't do anything about it (unless the owner gives permission obviously) because that is under the HTA.

A cop does not "need" a reason to stop you while operating a motor vehicle. A cop has every right to stop anyone operating a vehicle at any time. An example would be to check if you're insured and have a valid license, for instance. They generally don't stop without a reason, but can even if they think you look suspicious.

Just wasn't paying attention, kickstand wasn't down all the way and it pinned me on the floor. cracked windscreen and some scratches and dings.
