When I was younger I thought women should be allowed in the military/police force as long as they could complete the normal training for men and not have their own lower standards. The older I get though, I realize that even if they can go through the same training as a man, they should still not be allowed to join.
@kateshiningdeer33343 сағат бұрын
I have ZERO problem with women in any of these forces, as long as they're in-house and not on the streets or in a warzone. There are MANY quality jobs they COULD do - just not the tactical stuff. Militarily, there has been discussion for YEARS that women's naturally greater fine-motor skills may make them better-suited as drone pilots, for example. So, quit trying to make them meet physical standards they can't meet, and let them work the back-end jobs they're ideally suited to. Better for everyone. @@brelaxed13so if you were a detective you would quit? If the woman was a dog handler you would quit? If you were in a unit dealing with kids who were the victims of PDF files, you would quit. You may believe a woman couldn’t deal with young, traumatised kids as well as a big, hairy bloke with no empathy, but I disagree. I’m a woman. I lack brute strength- of course I do. In my day there were objective strength tests both sexes had to pass - I had no objection to that. If I’d wanted it and happy to take gear I probably could have got it. I didn’t. However there are other areas where I have a lot of skill. I agree both men and women should be placed into the roles best suited to their individual skills, and in some areas of police work woman are better than men. We all have a mother. If you had a bad one and don’t love and respect her, I’m sorry.😢 If your mum was badly attacked by a gang of men who took advantage of her, would you want her comforted, supported and interviewed by a male cop who might tell her to get over it, or it wasn’t so bad as nothing broken, or they are nice guys who made a mistake and to let it go - would that be ok? Or would you want a female cop who understood and was compassionate? Now there are male cops who are full of empathy, are non threatening etc, so I’m not going to say men should not work with kids etc, just as I won’t say woman can’t go on patrol. If you prove your skills objectively then go for it. If you believe all women are useless, I would think your partner would have refused to work with you before you had a chance to quit.

Exactly this. People shouldn't be afraid to point out 'certain physical realities', because if you don't, people get /killed/. People /die/ because some policymaker decides 'equality' was the way to go; when in reality, the amount of men and women physically fit enough for the job... Well- you can see a massive percentage difference on that alone. Some jobs are better for men; and some for women. Sure, there have been amazingly strong women athletes, bodybuilders, militarywomen - but they have always fallen behind their male counterparts in /physical/ performance. A man and a woman at the same height will (usually) have twenty to thirty (if not more) pounds of weight difference. Muscle is denser, men build and maintain it easier - women do not. In a fistfight, brawl, or in general - any type of fight or death scenario, if your 'force multiplier' is taken away; it really does come down to luck - primarily - and secondly, raw strength, agility and endurance - and finally, training, skill and reflexes. You can be as agile or as good as a runner as you want. If some brick shithouse 6'1 dude grabs you by the arm and you can't get him to let go? He's going to beat you to death with your own limb. To be fair, I don't think she let go by choice. From the sounds, as he pulled the taser away from her, she ended up gripping it by the zappy-part, and then he zapped her with it. So she flinches and let go. Shooting a guy dead because he's started doing to you what you've been doing to him for the past five minutes is wild though. Idk, looks to me like she was first to block his exit, first to go hands on, got rocked by a dude twice her size, her male partner *finally* stepped in with an ineffective taser, got immediately rocked by a dude his size whom he had just tazed and was standing over, then she spent what seems like an eternity with the dude in a double leg while her partner was doing who knows what. He then lost his taser, which she recovered and employed several times during the fight, which she was the lead on. He then stepped back and shot the dude rather than continue to employ his clearly nonexistent grappling skills. From the storeroom to the shoot I think she was more proactive and effective than anyone else, even with them nails. It’s very smoothbrain to automatically jump to the trope of “lol female cop means worthless cop” when the footage clearly shows the male cop being ineffective at blocking the exit, employing his taser, retaining his taser, taking initiative, and grappling.

@LesMilitairesSansFrontieres17 күн бұрын
Y'all really don't know how far good technique will take you. There's a reason 9 year olds who are trained in martial arts like BJJ or any grappling art (and some striking) can wipe the floor with people far older than them because they're untrained. Yes, being small puts you at a disadvantage, so you make your own advantages. If she was more trained, she could have completed the takedown easily, even at her weight. She needed to fix her grip by balling her fist and grabbing her wrist to lock in the hold, pinch her elbows in to stop the legs range of movement and then drive her head into the guy above the pelvis so he'd fall backwards and not lean forwards over her, while basically running forwards to put his feet under her. This isn't a "she's not worthy" thing, shows just untrained. Once he's on the ground, disengage and re-engage with firepower (lethal or less), you create a gap to put yourself at an advantage with weapons and your partner. 2 on 1 is an easier fight. She made a mistake She was untrained for the situation. But would you do any better? Have any of you been in a situation where you could die in a second? It's a scary place to be, and they're doing it daily. We should not judge people at their worst moments.

Having her head down like that while holding his legs put her in such a dangerous situation. She could so easily have been stabbed. Has anyone ever seen a female cop that wasn’t useless in a struggle?
@ollieox918118 күн бұрын
ASP has video of a female cop on a dealer's home raid. She was utterly badass. Bet the other cops wanted to hide behind her. She had a pistol, dealer had an AK. She was on the ground shooting back. Another had a female with just a pistol chasing a perp with a loaded AK across an open field. Somehow, she survived and took him out. She never backed down. Plenty of men out there who are utter cowards. Cop training should go deeper into psych to find out who freezes or runs in a fight. Too many unqualified cops get the job just because they're the chief's favorite nephew.

Arkansas State Police have a cop named Ana Escamilla. That woman fights like a man. Look up her video's. She's over 6 foot tall and she does not play. Other than her....I've never seen a lady cop that I'd want to trust with my life.

@@ollieox9181 Not just psych, physical too. A 100-pound woman with zero hand-to-hand combatives training has no business going toe-to-toe with a fully-grown man armed with a knife, period. She only endangers the lives of herself and everyone around her.

Ngl yeeeeears ago I had to report my next door neighbour (I was 16? I think) who was a massive addict (smack, coke, pills, god knows what else) and I phoned up the police in a similar tone “Hi, my next door neighbour is high and is attempting to stab my windows. Yes sir, STAB my windows. I dunno, she’s screaming about something but I really can’t make out what she’s trying to say” Grampian Police (now Police Scotland) came round, knew the guys on duty as they were friendly guys who patrolled my area quite often as it was the poorer area of town (so a LOT of crime) and they were just BAFFLED by her trying to stab windows. She dropped her knife when she saw their car and tried running away but ran into a fence and fell over, so that was a fun trip for them! When you’re so used to crazy you really do end up phoning the cops sounding bored like “yeah this is sadly normal around here, please get rid of this junkie, thanks”
