I recently bought a second hand one of this model and thoroughly enjoyed your video. I am interested to know whether you managed to fit a second leisure battery and where / how? Yesterday I visited my dealer and asked about it. He said that it was problematic to fit it in the long cupboard in the garage because after you put the battery into one of the boxes that he says are necessary it becomes too high to go in. I suspect with a little ingenuity a different box could be made to fit, or perhaps line the cupboard... His suggested solution was to put it in the garage behind the present battery, but I want to avoid that. Liked your DIY table!
@KissisAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Hi Geoff. Havent got around to the battery thing yet but when I researched it I remember finding batteries of all different dimensions that would fit that space. We are just about to set off on an 8 week trip to Spain, so a good opportunity to see how well one battery lasts. Good luck with your new van. Happy travels.

Great video, we are starting to look at vans ourselves. Can I ask, is that A.C in the roof midships and we have been wondering how you get on with a transverse bed. What happens if the one nearest the back wants the loo in the night?
@KissisAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Hi Geoff. That is AC on the roof but needs repairing. On it when we bought and never found a need for it. It needs 240v and we tend to avoid EHU. transverse bed ok, I have to do the climbing over in the middle of night for loo but having a fixed bed in such a compact van easily outweighs that issue. I will measure length of bed/space for you when it stops raining. 6.4m is a good length, it would just give you that extra bit of room without going to long. @@doglifehub We bought a 7.5 Rapido and full timed in it around 20 plus countries in Europe for over a year. I was a bit nervous at first but very quickly got the detentions of it. In my opinion it’s the minimum and perfect size for full timing and many nights we spent in supermarket car parks here and there. Even being able to stop at Aldi etc to grab our supplies on the way to a campground was great. Anything smaller for full timing would be a real challenge I think. @@doglifehub just a few things I’d mention on passing from my experience… I’m guessing you guys are in the UK or Ireland as you mentioned Tesco. If you’re going to spend most of your time in Europe I’d absolutely buy a left-hand drive van. Also, we read lots on forums with lots of handy tips about security etc, like leaving a battery radio on in the van if we were gone out etc. Also we were always so careful where we wild camped (Norway anywhere Eastern Europe nowhere) For full-timing I’m glad we decided on a fixed bed for a more homely feel instead of having to pack a bed away every morning. Also glad we insisted on a separate shower instead of a shower-toilet together as this is just so impractical for full timers. Anyway I could talk about it all night lol. Hope you get round to Australia one day it’s a special place. 🙂

Thanks Robert. We looked at the 135 and thought we could probably leave the bed made up. Once we saw the 125 thought we were set on it. Fortunately, when we started looking seriously, we found one on a private sale with quite a lot of extras. Happy travels!! :)

@@KissisAdventures I meant to say that I had a bike rack fitted above rear hatch. It is a little high but if I take my kitchen folding step it is no trouble. Well worth having.

@@robertcrouch4664 be interested to know which model you got. Been looking at the fiamma ones and there's loads of them. Thanks

@@KissisAdventures I bought a Fiamma Carry-Bike Pro from Marquis Tewkesbury in March 2019. It cost (fitted) £385.20. I do use a folding kitchen step to lift the bike onto rack which is 155cm . Since buying mine Fiamma have bought out a manual or electric lift bike rack, from about £650 to £750. I think I'll be sicking to my kitchen step! www.leisureoutlet.com/motorhome-cycle-carriers/cycle-carriers/caravans-and-motorhomes/79344-thule-lift-v16-manual-bicycle-carrier?surface=active&gclid=Cj0KCQiA48j9BRC-ARIsAMQu3WS-WzihOtU_c1tZZX_1alo6uiNG0lWOKL4ElB5J1dyboOl-2Xx7O-MaAkulEALw_wcB

Is it that unsafe in U.K. & Europe that extra locks needed?
@KissisAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Theft of motorhomes and campervans is quite common. Some people spend a lot of money on their pride and joy so worth the extra security investment :)
@grumpy553 жыл бұрын
You can’t have enough locks on as far as I’m concerned,there’s some horrible people out there.

My friends have had 2 motorhomes stolen in a 2 year period and have now bought a holiday home instead. Their last one was a very expensive Kontiki which was stolen by "travellers" and captured on CTV but the police showed very little interest as they tend to do when dealing with certain lawless communities!!

Can you drive it on a normal car license thanks .
@KissisAdventures4 жыл бұрын
I think so, as it is 3.3 tonnes. I'm old enough to have the old style C1 allowance on my licence. I think on the newer licences you can drive up to 3.5 tonnes.
