I’ve tried 6.5 staball in 6.5Creedmoor with awesome results

Great groups. Any primer will do but agreed the 400 is looking like best option.

Those are some good looking groups.

I've had good luck with StaBALL, especially StaBALL HD with Federal 215M Magnum Match Primers. Very good ES and SD's (low single digits). With CCI magnum primers the ES and SD have been a little larger, but not terrible. As far as sudden, somewhat un-explainable, stiff bolt lift, have you been diligent about cleaning the throat area of your chamber. Carbon ring is a big culprit in that kind of thing. And some guns are more sensitive to it than others.

Great video as always.. Man I would love to twist your ear on the 6mm arc load testing I'm doing!

Carbon ring? Are you using a bore scope when cleaning?

Yes

Good shooting. I don’t understand the difference that could cause the heavy bolt. That’s definitely strange but I’m guessing increases in pressure doesn’t always make higher velocity maybe 🤷🏽♂️
@DanielReyes-hz1qk4 ай бұрын
Peak pressure is different than average pressure so you can definitely have lower velocity and higher peak pressure. Depends on the combination of everything

@@DanielReyes-hz1qk thx. I wasn’t sure about that.

That's still 6BR velocity. But i understand you need to see splash. PRS do run them on the slow side.

I’m not sure why everyone is always chasing velocity. My target velocity with This cartridge is between 2800 and 2900fps. I see no reason to go any higher than that
@brianmazgay97284 ай бұрын
@@RobsReloading I understand what you’re saying. I don’t chase velocity either just trying to have a conversation with you kind of you know you could’ve built a 6 BR and got 2800 or 2850.

Those primers don't look flat or overly cratered too me.
@rustynut19674 ай бұрын
I would figure out why your getting the heavy bolt lift. Maybe case length is a little long? Or is the base of the brass getting blown out. If it's the later you might be a little to hot on the charge for that powder with that brass. The look of the primers doesn't always tell the whole story. It could have something to do with the two groups not being as good and not necessarily the primer.

Where are the BR Primers?
@oif3vetk94 ай бұрын
I don't know about your area stores and I haven't looked online but my local store, no way am I paying that much for the br primers. $180 a brick is far too expensive.

I am thinking about building a 6 Dasher. What freebore reamer does your's have. When looking for a prefit, there are MANY options. Thanks in advance.

Alpha spec reamer
@tommyj70874 ай бұрын
@@RobsReloading Sorry for being thick, but when I go to Alpha to look at their reamers, they have 1 with 5 freebore's listed. I don't see any SAAMI spec to try to determine the "spec".
