2nd comment, I second the GMSR Midland radio, same ones we use and I second the ICECO APL 55, same one we have, I have it on the slide and it is amazing! I have a different Tailgate table, but that is a must have! I had bought 2 tables to bring with us, I only bring one, the tailgate table is that helpful! In my rig, I also have a pantry drawer that is 20 inches wide by 7 inches tall, it has 4 dividers in it, so I store all my spices, silverware, pots, pans, etc. and it has a countertop wood top that fits on top when it is open and stores inside when it is closed, super amazing! I will probably add a second one without the countertop, I only need one countertop. LOVE THE EXHAUST! I have long tube headers on my Mustang GT, so I will probably leave the Bronco quiet, our mustang is so loud!
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
Haha I had a mustang with a similar setup and it was SOO loud. I loved it lol! The exhaust is awesome and for what’s it’s worth has no drone. I really want to get some sort of drawer system in the rig, but I also need to be able to throw the dogs in there sometimes. Would be so nice to have though

Okay I have to second the Trailrax Tremor roof rack, we have one on my 4 door Wildtrack Bronco, and hubby has it on his 2 door Wildtrak, these roof racks are the best! He is carrying the Ikamper Skycamp 3.0, which weighs 160 pounds, it is a king size bed, and he has no issue in the 2 door Bronco with it on top. I am carrying the Yakima Road shower, a 270 degree awning and the 95L Roam box on my Bronco, I will be adding another Roam box, just waiting for them to put the one that I want on sale! We need lights, that is our next move, then upgrading the steering and tire rods, those are all on the list. Love the wheels and tires! That is also on the list. I swear the list just keeps going, and we have 2 to outfit.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын

David, when is the winch coming. You roll solo most of the time, so with winch and bigger tyres you'll be able to explore further into the wilderness. The roof rack wind deflector is perfect to mount a good light bar light the rigid adapt (gps), dio dynamic 50 inch light bar would be good when explored deeper with all kinds of bad weather. In my humble opinion.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
Both are things I’m looking at honestly. The winch is on my mind a lot, I just don’t like the mounting options I’ve seen so far. But it needs to happen. I’d like a light bar up top as well. I even have the cutout wind deflector. But it’s not a necessity. The lighting setup I have now works really well
@laloolhouvum1634 Жыл бұрын
@@OFFTHEGRIND I agree your lighting setup will work well. The mounting options available may not look good, however it's a necessity for an overlanding to have a winch, especially to your rig, cuz you do solo trips almost all the time. You may not like available winch mounts, but get the one you like most and when a better one is available in the market which you like you can change it again. I've seen one Bronco built where the winch is mounted in the place of the sensor. The sensor moved to the right. It looks so neat and clean. I don't remember the company that built it.

Oh man you’ll love the MRRs. They’re so freakin good. But TrailRax has a universal traction board mount that I use for that
@AustinBradford-i4p Жыл бұрын
Great video! I want to know more about your traction boards and how to mount them to the Pax Rax. I have the Pax Rax and the ARB Tred Pro boards from Ford Performance. Turns out there aren’t very many mounting brackets on the market for ARB Tred Pros. Also, mounting these long boards on the Pax Rax, it blocks the opening of the door. Do I have to purchase the expensive extra mounting plate from Trail Rax or do the standard ones work? What (locking) hardware do you use? Thanks.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
Unless you’re super handy with fabrication, your best bet is the universal traction board mount from TrailRax. It also allows you to adjust the board back further so they don’t block the door open. I have standard mounting pins that I just put a pad lock on. I had a barrel lock on them, but it rusted and I had to cut it off. Pad lock does great though

Like the ford escape one? Can do it with any vehicle just the more u do it the more u change ur set up for what u do so if that works for u do it just know that’s an escape not a bronco even tho the name suggests that they’re kind of close, but they’re not.
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
I agree with what Trevor said. You can literally do this with nearly any vehicle. You just have to understand and respect the limitation and capabilities of that platform. I’ve seen the sports built out and they’ll definitely do any forest road just fine and most spur roads. But they have nowhere near the articulation or clearance for much more
@mbutler96 Жыл бұрын
@@OFFTHEGRIND thanks for the info. I’m really itching to get into a more suv type rig because I want my truck back for doing truck things. We honestly don’t do any real off-roading. I like what you've done with your Bronco. I was able to mount my GMRS radio under the center console with a CAT 5 looking female plug for the mic. It is a real slick install. My big question is, how long have you had your affiliate link? I just bought the full 4dr TrailRax roof rack and I asked the sales guy if you had an affiliate link. He said no. So I paid 2K for my rack. 10% off would've been nice. Then, to top it off, they shorted me on the weather stripping. 😮
@OFFTHEGRIND Жыл бұрын
Oh that sounds like an awesome place to run it. Like under the center console or in it? I’ve had it for about 9 months now I think. It is just an affiliate code though and does not offer a discount. @christiancruz39148 ай бұрын
Well if you're just going to be doing light off roading you'll be fine. If you want to do more serious of roading then an actual bronco is the way to go. Short answer, the sport absolutely can not do what this bronco can, not to say it can't do easy trails.

Sorry for the delay! I would say amber though.
