It’s funny that to meet emissions of the 1980s car companies would have a ton of tubes and sensors that made the engine bay look like a snake 🐍 pit. And throughout the late 1990s they figured how to add power without sacrificing efficiency, and even cleaned up the engine bay from all those pesky tubes/wires/hoses… funny how we’re back at scare one with modern ICE vehicles lol.

Then I bought a coupe 2001 3.0L V6 engine version of the same car. And compared to all the other V6 engine stuff it was the cleanest and most beautiful engine and engine bay I’ve ever seen. Hell, that Honda V6 engine was the easiest work on, and even the modern versions of it is stupid easy to do oil changes, spark plugs etc.

I’m still upset I sold my 2005 Mercedes e320. It had a rare brake issue that I probably could’ve fixed but I had it stored at a friend’s house and he passed away. I had too many other cars so I had nowhere to put it. I pretty much sold it at scrap price just because the brakes were potentially an issue that could hurt or kill somebody if they didn’t know what they were getting into. The outside and inside were near mint and it brakes my heart but this is why a lot of older vehicles go. Simple fixes that cost a little too much out of someone’s budget and not wanting to put that on your average $1000 car buyer without not sleeping at night

It was such a cool car, especially with the period correct wheels. I had it listed for $4k, then 3500, then I was about to drop it to $3k when I was offered the trade for the Fit. The Fit was a little rough so the guy added a few hundred cash on top. My daily at the time was the 80 series land cruiser, so the Fit getting 3x the gas mileage was exactly what I needed. I left the buckets of old gas out to evaporate over time and when there was a lot less left, I had a nice bonfire. Once I let the interior dry out, there was no odor anymore. Aside from the algae on the floor, there was only a tiny bit of mildew on the ceiling near the sunroof, which wiped right off. Thanks for watching!
