Hello, People!
My name is Marc, welcome to my channel.
Cargo Trailer Camping Spring 2024 / Part 8 / Trailer Walkthrough
Out for our first camping trip of the year, it's springtime in Utah! We are approximately 20 miles west and a bit south of Nephi, Utah. Planning on a 4 day trip. The goal of this trip is to do some easy cargo trailer camping and rockhounding with my little dog, Gypsy.
2023 Walkthrough Video: • 6x10 Cargo Trailer Cam...
Day 3, Late Morning. Time for a new cargo trailer camper walkthrough video.
There's a few new things going on with my 6x10 cargo trailer camper for 2024 and I'd like to show them to you. I've changed out the stove, got a new bigger powerstation, DC wiring, carpet, and some other small things. She's getting to be a pretty comfortable little camper these days. Check it out! :D

Thank you, Sue! Getting on into the warmer months now, won't need heated beds maybe on our next trip. Well see! :D

You have made some nice upgrades for you and Gypsy! I love that she has a heated bed! And the double solar array is wonderful! That second panel comes in really handy I bet! It's a great power set up you have going and you live somewhere that you use it without fear of no sun! Here in Oregon, we could only use something like that 3 months out of the year! You have done some awesome little upgrades that just make your life simpler and that is what life camping is all about. That is an awesome set up you have for yourself! Now you need a cooling system for yourself and Gypsy for the summertime when it just gets to hot to move around. You will need a way to cool down whether that be a small little a/c unit or a little swamp cooler and both will need their own panels and power circuits! But where you live, it gets really hot! And unless you can find a way to cool down, you better plan on camping in areas much farther away from home! Lol! Thanks Marc!

Thanks, Lisa. We do like our heated beds! Insulated trailer walls helps a lot too on those cold nights. You're right! I hardly ever camp near trees. My solar system is still in the beginner stage, we need more and bigger panels. Big Blue can take up to about 900 watts (150 volts) of solar input. I figure I can get 740 watts of panels on the roof of the trailer. That should be enough for most uses, except for air conditioning! It's very hard to get enough solar for AC. Most people run generators for AC. One thing that does work is water misters. Would be nice for summer camping to rig up some misters under a canopy. Deep shade and misters. Sounds like a project. I just need to be picky when and where I hound. Not too wise to go into the desert in full summer. Fall and spring are where it's at! I need to maximize those seasons. I'd love to travel a bit with the seasons, but who wouldn't right? :D

You could have left out the urine talk. Lol 😉...Small led overhead camper lights would work great in there. Wouldn't use much power. Installing a small stainless sink in a corner with a drain out the camper wouldn't be hard to install. Nice set up! Like it! You have what you need to keep warm & dry.👍

No script, never know what will come out of my mouth... lol. I could have cut every thing about the potty and the video would have probably been a better video. It's just that I had quite a few comments on my last walkthrough about what I used and I wanted to address it directly. At least I didn't demonstrate usage! Haha. And no close-ups! But seriously, I have heard the key to a good composting toilet is separation of the solids from the liquids. I'm not composting but it's just so much nicer and easier to deal with it all if they're separated. My issue with installed sinks and why I don't have one: I feel like a tiny sink isn't too useful, and a bigger sink is too much dedicated space. I like to be able to change things out easily and quickly, like I've done with the stoves. If this space were bigger, say 7x14 I'd probably have an installed sink. The plastic tub I bought can be used in many ways, dishes indoors or out, bird bath for photographic purposes, foot soak on a hot summer day... I also use it to store my dinner plate and extra pan during travel. Thanks for watching, Dream Look! :D

Looks like it's all coming together nicely for you Marc. Of course there is always more to add like the fridge but like you I added things through the years as I could afford them but it doesn't prevent one from going out and enjoying the advantages of staying in a cargo trailer camper. Nice job.

How would it be to just get it "all" at once. I'll never know.. I don't mind things taking a while to develop, less wasteful I think. I'm waiting for this popular weekend camping holiday to be over and then I'll head out. Where to go? How to get there?

Super upgrades Marc! I was wondering where you would locate Big Blue to! Excellent spot! I like the idea of the magnet light fixtures, you can move those to any location you need them in. Excellent conversion of a cargo trailer!

Thanks! The movable rechargeable lights really are convenient. At first I thought Big Blue was going to sit up front under the shelves. I had it there one night, the glow from the power button was too bright! I'd have to cover it or something. The main reason to put it back there was to lessen "installed" tongue weight. Cargo trailer conversions can become front heavy easily.

Gypsy living the good life. 😂 I’m hoping to be doing the what you are doing in five years. I really love to rock hound. Finding them is my favorite part. Good luck and safe travels

My favorite is to wake up, put on some slippers, step from the tent or trailer and be rockhounding with coffee in one hand. That's the best. :D

I found you because of your cargo trailer build. Very relevant for me because ours is a minimalist build (“unbuild”), much like yours!
