I have a 6x14 trailer build, insulated all the walls, and ceiling with pink panther / RMAX insulation. Wasnt able to get the wood off of my ramp, so my ramp, access door, and floor isnt insulated, how much of a difference does that make?

i never insulate my floor, but im not in a cold climate.. you can always cut a slot and fill the door with insulation peanuts or something ?

I just bought a Haier 13.5 BTU dual hose but I am going to mount it up front under the counter where I'll have power entering the trailer. I'm thinking of intake and exhaust thru the floor and putting a louver on the ehaust blowing away from the intake so it won't be sucking the heated air back in. Ill have to leave inside intake space for the inside air to enter the unit to blow cold air out to the inside. That way it would be tucked in out of the way on my 6 x 10 v nose. Im hoping it keeps the Arizona heat on the outside.

Your video helped me visualize how I can install the dual hose portable I just ordered. Do have a question though; for the second hose why not just go through floor too or even through the side wall instead of the trailer door?

Did you have to add any insulation? I've got a 6x12 trailer as well and I need to be cool enough to change in during summer months in GA. I probably will need to leave the door cracked a little, so it seems like the dual hose option would work better for that reason as well.

So how well does it work? Most of the portable ACs I've seen in trailers are the far less efficient single hose version and no one seems happy with them. How does this one do? Curious as to why you decided to vent out the back instead of the side? Also, might be a good idea to insulate the exhaust hose so it doesn't transfer that heat back in the trailer space.

I put it in today, but so far it worked great. My friends 7x14 had a dual hose and it worked fine. Just decided to be different and try to vent straight out. I know it will hinder lowering the back door, but i really wont open it much now thats its about Complete. I will insulate the hose if needed, but its really short, I dont think it will be much a problem. Another trailer i had a single hose and it sucked.. had to add a (return) area then it worked fine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sKOkpIGpi8SDjdU

What kind of air conditioner did you get? I am ready to follow your example for my cargo trailer conversion

I have followed your cargo trailer conversions. Is the location of the portable air conditioner important or does it not make any difference (front or back of trailer). Have all of the portable air units cooled the various trailers adequately? Thank you.

I watched the video where you installed the single vent exhaust portable AC unit. Why did that not work? Did it just not work well? Does the 2-vent system work that much better? Thanks

Any update on how well it's doing also do you run it off of a 30 amp breaker I have a 28 foot enclosed trailer with the roof mounted unit but I can't keep up so I'm wanting to get one of these as a supplement but I'm worried that with both running it'll draw too much juice for a 30 amp breaker

it is working remarkably well. i have a small trailer, but this wil freeze you out , just set on 72. this pulls 11amp maybe., i run this off 15 amp.
