I've been bowling 35+ years and I just made my first 7-10 a couple of months ago after watching Mitch's first video. A-2 pinsetter, followed his same strategy (fired it at the 7-pin on the left lane) and it bounced right across just like Mitch did. It was unreal. For real though, 94-for-96 on single pins across the two videos is incredible. His form never wavered even when getting tired. And he only missed the two because he was trying to cut it close.

I've made one 7-10... I was really throwing it as fast as I could, and thought I'd missed left, I clipped the left hand side of the 10 pin so thinly, it kicked into the sidewall and pinged off, then rolled very slowly scross the deck into the 7 that I'd already turned away, when I few cheers. I looked back and couldn't believe it had gone.

**Put down the plastic ball** I grew up on GS pinsetters. I have had the most luck using my strike ball cross lane and letting it straighten out so it is going straight at or through the 10 pin. It follows the pin straight back and pinches it against the curtain. From there I have for sure shot it out as deadwood and or thrown it back on the deck to roll it around. That was with at least 20+ MPH. Or hooking it cross lane into the 7 pin and hitting it slightly thin to hit the side wall and come back and bounce off the top of the ball. Works for 4 7 10 to create madness in the pit on the 4 7 side. With my Master Shifu voice Again!

7-10's... made it at least 10 times. I've brought the 10 pin back up the lane across the foul line 3 times. I could throw it 29-30mph in my younger days. Now at 43 it's about 25-26mph. That flap on the gsx's makes it almost impossible to bounce anything out..
@Mikey-19903 жыл бұрын
In my twenty years of bowling and more seven ten leaves than I'd like to admit, I've only ever made it once in my sport shot league back in 2018. Threw it as hard as I could at the ten. It smacked against the side wall, rolled across and just had enough steam to take out the seven. I've come extremely close just earlier this season by almost replicating the exact bounce but it just missed the seven going across.

I've made one 7-10 on GS-X, and it was the same way Anthony Neuer did it at the US Open Hit the inside of the 10 pin on the left lane with a high amount of angle, and potentially it could go upwards. On the right lane, I always go for the 7 pin with the same strategy.

The curtain isn’t fixed on these pinsetters and it’s designed to absorb the energy from the pins so they just die into the back of the pit. Whereas the A2s have a fixed curtain to a backstop which allows for the bounce.

I was working on a 6 bagger, next ball was a pocket 7-10. Was pissed and threw the ball super hard at the 10 pin and it came back on top of the ball and ricocheted and took the 7 out. This was in 1983.

Can one of you ask Mitch if he looks at the pin on spare shots, or the arrows or uses the same targeting as on strike shots? I use the same targeting method and find it kind of hard to adjust which side of a pin to aim for, but if I look at the pin I always miss to the right for some reason.

Does the weight of the bowling ball determine if the ball hooks more or not? Example. If I buy a 10 lbs Brunswick Rhino Red/Black/Gold Pearl, will it hook less than a heavier pound ball that’s the exact same but weighs more?
@jrproshop3 жыл бұрын

I made 7-10 6 times, in 2 different centres. The curtains are crucial. If they absorb energy and are not stretched, it is almost impossible to make it. If the sidewalls are hard and screwed in tight, that will give you a higher chance of making it. Btw, I throw a 12pound house ball, 30Mph (off-hand) on these attempts, so it helps a little.

One main key factor is how the curtain is adjusted and the tighter is is the harder it is for bounce outs to happen so the way I see it is the curtains weren't too tight on the A2s at Northrock hence how it was actually able to be converted 7 times

On Mitch's 3rd shot I was like "yeah he's going at it on the wrong side, you gotta be near the channel" There actually IS an adjustment to bouncing pins out. The machinery in the pit and the deck will tell you what you should do. Like the place I bowl at has Brunswick decks and A2 pits, so if you hit the pin on the other side of the channel it will have a better chance of bouncing out and being dead wood. But if you hit near the channel it'll fly out of the pit.

Best way to convert the 7-10 on GSX pinsetters is to throw the ball with lots of speed (duh) drive the pin straight back and hopefully it bounces off the ball. Otherwise I've seen them bounce if you shoot the inside of the pin that's near the ball door. More revs on the plastic would definitely help too
