I have seen a cold start videos and people complaining about Diesel engines in the cold. First thing if you know it’s going to be well below freezing anti gel is cheap insurance and can save your filters from freezing. To me it’s a must if you are operating below zero F.
This is also a good comparison between modern diesels and the technology that was available 25 years ago.
