Welcome back to our 7.3L Godzilla Fox Body Swap project! Follow along with Landan as he follows you up on what parts we've installed so far.
With the highly-anticipated release of the 7.3L Godzilla, gearheads have been trying to swap them into various vehicles to see what they are capable of. Being Fox Body experts, it was only fitting that we here at Late Model Restoration drop one into a 1979-1993 Mustang. The beauty of this engine is that you can put it in just about anything if it fits, and regardless of aftermarket support, it's a powerful and reliable engine in stock trim.

Great work guys! Awesome seeing this come together. USShift for the win! Been using those controllers since it came out. Running several Quick4s now. Car will be a beast with that 6R!

Revan Evan just had Brian Wolf on again showing off a BTR intake that's lower, TB is lower and angled down slightly in front, and give an extra 70hp over stock peak about 1000rpm past stock 🤙🏻

I watch them to but I really don't like aluminum intake's anymore. I wish they would do a polymer composite style intake for the 7.3 GODZILLA

You will need to move the fuel pressure regulator so that you are regulating the pressure in the fuel rails. In the current setup you are only regulating from the regulator back to the pump

I dont agree with the o ring oil pan. Take a look at the old 2000 Cadillac dhs. One of there main problem . I prefer a oil pan gasket and ditch the oring.

What is all the hoopla about the Godzilla ? Am I missing something? It a push rod motor that is not as efficient as the current Coyote ?

What oil pressure sending unit did you guys use for the oil filter relocation kit?

Since we used the Autometer InVision digital cluster, we installed the oil pressure sending unit that was included in the kit. It's AutoMeter part number 2242. Here is a link to the cluster if want to know more: lmr.com/item/ATM-7007/mustang-autometer-invision-lcd-dash-kit-87-93

What's the part numbers for the radiator hoses???

Hi Anthony, Unfortunately, we do not have the part numbers for these hoses. We had picked up these hoses from our local auto parts store. However, we are still testing to make sure everything runs correctly. We hope to have more information on these in the future.

Yes the shaft was changed. The driveshaft for the 6R80 requires the internal slip yoke.

Love the new tech. It’s kind of an ugly motor compared to the old 7.0 engines, especially at the price 🏷 (what is it 10K?) Sure wouldn’t having that mpg in a 70’s F-100 restomod

Way too difficult just to prove it can be done, so don't see this being a popular swap for a fox. Much easier and more affordable alternatives with stroker Windsor, 460, and Coyote engines, or dare I say LS.

Nissan never made a 7.3L. What do you mean Godzilla in a Foxbody? Ford made a 7.3 diesel. Nissan made a Godzilla. Please explain.

The R32 GTR got the nickname "Godzilla" back in the 80's from outside sources. Ford codenamed the 7.3L Godzilla for numerous reasons.
