7.3L Godzilla Swap Fox Body Mustang Project Car: Green Goblin | Full Build Series

Enjoy all five episodes of LMR's 7.3L Godzilla engine swap series in a 1992 Calypso Green Fox Body Mustang! Whenever the 7.3L Godzilla engine became available for purchase in crate form, we thought, "what the heck"? Let's shove this thing into a Fox Body Mustang. Over the course of several months, the Godzilla swap came to be. We're not strangers to engine swaps, but we knew with this swap being as new as it was, there would be some "figuring out" along the way.

It’s crazy seeing how much physically smaller the Godzilla is when it’s right next to the Coyote, especially when you take into account the fact that it has nearly 50% more displacement than the Coyote… DOHC absolutely has its advantages, but you can’t beat the good old pushrod engine for compactness!

I love that you have a passion for Foxbody s . LMR is awesome. Somehow I don't see myself keeping my license for very long with the addition of a power train you all have installed. I do like it though 🦊🐎💯👍

Great series! Thirty-two hundred pounds with an iron block and heavy automatic transmission is pretty good. A crate Godzilla running 11.17 is stellar.

About what a stock coyote swap would run in that car. The question now is which is cheaper to do?

With a Coyote in similar trim, the times would be very close. If you bought parts new, the cost is also comparable. -Landan

Please tell me this car is available to sell? My first mustang was this 92 beast and I had 10k invested into it and it was recovered stripped and destroyed in bath New Hampshire. They stole it in broad daylight out of a secured parking garage. Never forget that feeling that day. Please tell me it’s available somewhere 😅😅great video guys

I was watching this series because Im thinking of starting a Godzilla swap in my 91 GT. You got a stock intake to clear a 2.5" cowl hood, do you think (or know) if the BTR intake, or Ford Motorsport intake would clear a stock hood?

I can't speak on behalf of the BTR intake since I don't have personal experience with it. We recently installed the Ford Performance intake (video coming soon), and it still didn't clear the stock hood. From what I can tell, all that Ford Performance did with their intake is reposition the throttle body. It also accepts the 92mm throttle body from the GT500. -Landan

That's an awful lot of motor just to get 416 horse power. You could have took a 302 and stroked it to 347 and put a set of heads and a turbo on it and got more horse power.

It installs between the #7 and #8 header primaries and slides into the engine block. -Landan
