I am running Mobil 1 5w30 which meets the Ford Spec for the Godzilla engine. I have always been a fan of Mobil 1 and since I typically run my vehicles 10-12 years or more, I believe a full synthetic is the way to go. I have now discovered that they have a specific Mobil 1 truck and SUV that I may change too. I’m not sure what the real benefit will be but both oils meet the spec. I changed oil at 1500 miles and again at 5000 miles. I will now continue at 5000 mile intervals. Even with the price of synthetic, oil is about the cheapest thing you can put in an engine, so I don’t mind splurging a little. Through my 32 years of driving I have always maintained my vehicles very well. In those 32 years I have never had to pull a head off of an engine. I haven’t always run Mobil 1 (Valvoline in anything not getting Mobil 1) but I have always kept up the maintenance. My company vehicles have been no different, never any engine work done to even one of them. I have driven well over 1.5 million miles in my lifetime in all different types of trucks. I have my oil change at a shop that I actually worked at many years ago. The owner is very particular and they do a great job. I do believe that at the next oil change I will start requiring a Motorcraft oil filter. Not sure these days but Purolator used to manufacture the Motorcraft filters. The biggest issue with any engine is maintenance. Do it right and they will last a long time. My 2009 Toyota Tundra has 137000 miles on it. I bought it new. It is a great pickup. It lacks a lot of creature comforts that the new truck has but I would jump in it right now and drive it anywhere in the country.

The problem is 95% of commercial vehicles. Rumor has it, it's low oil pressure at idle on commercial vehicles. Regular pickup trucks rarely have any oil related issues.

I also have a 2022 Godzilla. Just had the dealer do a 10k oil change. I also got a oil sample kit from black stone . The tech filled up the sample bottle for me . Sent back to black stone waiting on results. They do a great job breaking down the oil and they will detect any metal particles. Hopefully all is well . New to your channel.

Dealer installed new long block . 2nd motor blew up running less than 5 minutes. Clip fell out breaking piston in 8 cylinder . Now 3rd motor is in . I love this truck . Hope the problems are finally gone . Crossing my fingers

The Motorcraft synthetic blend is the bare minimum oil Ford wants you to use. As long as you are using a 5w-30 viscosity you will not void your warranty. You would be far better off using a full synthetic oil. Also, the Motorcraft oil filters have had issues with glue breaking loose inside the canister that could go through the engine. Far better filters for this engine. Look at Wix, or the Purolator Boss.

I got one of the first godzillas of the assembly like, we ordered ours January of 2020. It's been great so far. Next oil change I'll look and see if I notice any metal in the oil

If you read the back of the Motorcraft oil 5Qt bottle, it says ILSAC-5. I use Mobil 1 5W30 which is ILSAC-6, offers more protection. If you read the fine print, 10K mile oil change intervals are for "perfect conditions". I do 6K intervals with the better oil. KEEP A LOG....! If you do not write it down, it never happened (warranty). 8 Qts, Type of Oil and Filter, followed by date and mileage, date and mileage, kept in glove box until warranty expires. Windshields get replaced and the stickers disappear. I put a small sticker on the sun visor - next oil change, miles, date. My vehicles are low mileage - easy to check and not forget. At 9 months the oil must go regardless of miles.

Road debris can hit open the oil drain cock while going down the road, Also hot oil can continuously run around 230° fahrenheit and i dont know if we can trust them Chinese oil rubber seals in such valve, if seal softens, so will the ball inside causing it to possibly become open with vibration, the rubber seal interference is what keeps the valve lever in the closed position. Carefull,.. Check your valve after a week of so of use, and check that it Positively stays in the closed position and feels snug all the way tru its open and closed stroke.
@saltytrips

So far so good, zero issues, highly unlikely road debris will open valve, double locking and anything would hit the axle or cross member before touching the valve. I’ll update on next oil change.

It also says in the owners manual: "We recommend Motorcraft motor oil for your vehicle. If Motorcraft oil is not available, use motor oils of the recommended viscosity grade that display the API Certification Mark for gasoline." No mention of the WSS-M2C961-A1 in that paragraph. So, does that mean if I use an oil that is 5w-30 and has the API certification but the oil says it meets Ford WSS-M2C961-A, WSS-M2C946-B1 or WSS-M2C946-A that I'm in the wrong?

Ford oil filters are built really well, you don’t know what you’re talking about. . The ford oil I don’t think is that great and it doesn’t have as many additives like Mobil 1 fs.
