Brian Wolfe and REVan Evan take a look at the latest from Indy Power Products, including a new oiling system with short oil pan and new pump, valve covers front engine dress for street cars and a new intake that we'll take a close look at in the next video.

Humble guys in the video, redoing the oiling system and designing the front cover and all the parts is not for the faint of heart. It does not mention that Jim Ryder was a Engineer at Ford and Roush for 30 years. Good luck guys, looks like a fun project at least your selling an engineered solution that looks great!

Those valve covers (don’t call them cam covers) are sexy as hell and with the simple FEAD and pan, throw a Ford Racing air cleaner on it and it’ll look at home on any Ford Muscle!

Glad to finally see options coming out enabling these motors into early year cars. Now I want to see one of these in an early shock tower Ford or Mercury. I’m unable to fab parts, but hoping we will see someone come out with the other needed parts to stuff into an early Cougar, Mustang, Fairlane, etc.

I applaud Indy power products for filling the void on the Godzilla motors to get swaps going in many different cars and trucks. And very nice parts too. But man Ford did not make it easy at all. When I first heard about this motor I was excited and hoping it would replace the ls in many up and coming projects. But man there are so many expensive hurdles to jump over that I’m not seeing it taking off anytime soon. I realize the ls platform didn’t take off right away either but it seems most swap solutions are using stock components from one vehicle or another. Ps I am die hard ford and as anti ls (in a ford) as they come but man it seems like the coyote is still a cheaper and easier swap. Hopefully I’m wrong and this all works out and isn’t as expensive as it appears to be. I’m following along and hoping for the best. Keep the content and products coming

This is encouraging to see. So even an old school fella could consider the 7.3. It would appear the front cover would also fit a 302 non-reverse rotation water pump to run a V belt, the intake will fit a 4 barrel carb and the oil pump should allow a front sump pan. It's easy to adapt a belt driven distributor. Maybe even with points! :) It would lose the variable cam and varable oil pressure but should still do fine.

What a joke that whole chain driven oil pump thing is. Lets take a very simple crank mounted oil pump and see how many more parts we can make it so it has more ways to fail. Leave it up to Ford to screw up such a simple thing. Godzilla, no thanks I will stick to my stroker windsor that will fit in many more places, simpler, cheaper and has tons of aftermarket support. 1960's design Windsor > 2000's junkzilla.

@@mustangmadness4143 "Crank mounted oil pump"? The oil pump in a small block is driven off a shaft by the distributor. Is a chain really any less reliable than a shaft that have been known to fail? @RyTrapp0
@RyTrapp0 3 жыл бұрын
It's really exciting to finally see these important parts dropping - but DAMN I hope there's going to be some more affordable options than just these big billet parts. Things like the oil pump conversion are what they are, but that pan rail looks like it costs more than 90% of the junk on this Fox body, lol. I'd like to think that the oil pump conversion could be popular enough to justify a major company stamping a pan for it(I could possibly see a package like that offered by Ford Performance), but I have my doubts. I REALLY dig this engine... but she's looking like it's gonna be pretty damn expensive for a while(unless you just don't mind the engine sitting high with the stock pan, which is doable but certainly not ideal). Which is unfortunate.

I am sure it will fit, but there would be a lot of fab work for mounts and then the interface between the electronics to the rest of the vehicle. I know there are some very knowledgeable people that can work through both of these, but there are no "kits" yet that I am aware of.

@@brianwolfe2993 oh yeah I'm aware I'm going to have to fabricate engine mounts, check for pan clearance. Dimensionally it should be narrower than the 3v, I'd like to do a twin turbo setup on it. Just wondering how much more room there will be in the engine bay, considering the 3v triton thats in there right now makes it hard just to do spark plugs let alone plumb an entire turbo setup...

@@boboso4978 Yes, this is a bit wider than a 9.5 deck height windsor and narrower than a 9.5 deck height cleveland.

@@brianwolfe2993 thats actually not too bad... so it would actually save me quite a bit of room in the engine bay... now to figure out headers, and ECU... You guys don't know how much your knowledge helps guys like me, and I absolutely appreciate it... Though now that I think about it a blower cam, heads and that Whipple yall had on here a while back would make packaging far more simple than plumbing a full turbo system, and net me round abouts the same power and reliability im looking for and keeps it simple...

And why? Kits have been available for years to install 429/460/514 strokers in many Ford cars.

I’m willing to bet a good set of cylinder heads on a 385 series big block will out perform this engine at a fraction of the costs and headaches involved swapping one into other ford cars/trucks.
