After all, this track is open to the general public and therefore there is a MASSIVE difference in driving skills from one driver to the next and these differences always far outweigh any performance differences in the cars themselves. In other words, it's not about the car, it's about the driver.

Some people here underestimate Hyundai as being designed to run on straight roads, but if you look it up on KZbin, look at the Ioniq 5 running in Nuremberg, Germany. Hyundai overwhelms German cars. It's similar to German cars on the track, too

For shure hyundai should pay this guy for helping selling 5N. There is no better 5N advertising than this guy is. BTW He's got great skils and the way this car handle with such a speed is incredible. How it's possible that with weight of this car, with hight and without all the aero stuff this car can handle so well in the fast corners with much greater speed than GT4 RS. I'm thinking: - more aggressive aero - lowered ride height - wider tires (295? 305?) - some weight reduction? (it's either not cheap or you lose creature comforts, but perhaps an optional package or trim?)

@@danpettersen1 Yeah I also want to try a trackday to push for under 7:30! With semis that should be no problem for this car. On stock tyres you will have amazing fun on TF! I go fast charge at the superchargers on the boulevard. They are super fast ( Max 10min to 80% ) and are pretty cheap ( 0.6 euro/kw ) without any other costs. I tried the tesla ones but they are slow on this car. Max 50kw Only had a problem once but called the number on the charger and they solved that quickly 👍

But if you do book a trackday, make sure you get the right one with the least amount of drivers as possible. I've been to one who had a lot of cars, and that was almost as bad as TF. Basically you want to avoid the cheap trackdays. But get a good one, and its worth it. 😉🏁

Yeah I met 5 times this year Ionik 5 N on the track. I can tell you that, with same driving skills, the Hyundai won't passed the GT4 RS and will not even follow it for much long. But I have witness the 20 minutes on the track and the 20 minutes charging, and it is working. Heat manegment is impressive. Drivers I've taked too though says that tire degradation is fast. So much weight causing understear in the front in corners. Many wasn't able to finish the day without buying another set of tires with average lap time (compared to the lap time of all the drivers in our group on two different tracks)

That was an awesome lap! And very entertaining to watch. I am confused on multiple levels though... First, because I thought the Ring had some pretty strict "no racing" rules (except against yourself and the clock) that Mr Cayman flagrantly ignored by failing to move over and let you pass (as one, I think, should do when caught up from behind by anyone), and you also ignored (by driving - for a long time - very close looking for a way past). Second, I'm confused about your lap time. The impression from the video is that you lapped Nordschleife in 7:46, with lots of traffic, and being held up (if only a little) for most of the lap by Mr Cayman. Even though your driving skill is evident, it is hard to believe you did set that time in those circumstances, given that en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_N%C3%BCrburgring_Nordschleife_lap_times#Full_lap lists 7:45.59 as the fastest lap by an Ioniq 5N - presumably with zero traffic and ideal conditions. What am I missing? Mr Cayman can't have been quite as close to the car's limits. On that same Wikipedia page we find Cayman GT4 RS with 7:16.15. Even if we didn't know that... He doesn't have a few hundred kilograms of batteries to move, and surely has wider tires (?)... The fact you narrowly avoided running into him at every other apex then is a pretty strong indicator that something is amiss. It could be a matter of driving skill, or perhaps it could be that his tires were completely shot, for all I know.

Thanks, driving fast is allowed. I dont think there is a problem with following someone close. The 5N lap you posted is a FULL lap, mine is a bridge to gantry lap. Thats why the confusion 🙂 He got a much faster car, maybe he knew the track less. Or didnt want to push his car too hard. 😄
