On the point of the microraptor: I don’t remember if this works on official but on unofficial you can attach c4 to a swarm of microraptors, whistle attack target, and blow up the c4, it’s a very good way to get someone off of a pteranodon or argent.

The one thing about parashuts is that even if you jump off the tallest mountain in the game the wild animal or even a tame does not take fall damage and will jump off literally anything just to kill you

5:41 yes 5:51 no, almost every pvp player expects you to have parachutes and they will pick you up again for sure 7:58 dont use beer in fights because you need stamina more than resistance. you are such an ez target after some seconds when the beer gives you an hangover btw dont use assault rifels they are mostly useless dont build your bases like in the beginning. when you have all you turrets you have in between the walls outside. the enemies mostlikely will have to waste more time than blowing into your base just have some internals and maybe a double layered wall, so its hard to c4 run. and a personal tip from my side: build hidden

Great videos pterafier, I've been playing Ark since beta and even some of the tips you give are somewhat new to me. BTW, i made a "honeycomb" back in the day, more like a maze base...took them 3 game days to get through the whole base and they still missed my false wall that had all my bps in it. Sometimes, being raided makes the best memories. haha thumbs up though.

The one major fallback on having mini bases around your main base with cryopodded dinos is that if they plan on raiding everything you own, you just lost some really good dinos that are now used against you

Also another tip with the obelisks, good way to transfer resources. Can go to ragnarok or aberration for metal, empty out the tame the resources are on so you’re overweight, then transfer to the map you’re based on and spawn at your bed with all the resources 😉

I sometimes use the honeycomb style. I fill it with troodons. 😉call me evil but it works XD Another thing I do is find good base locations that aren’t already taken (especially if you have a better spot) and just build on it, taking the spot from them. That tip doesn’t give much of an advantage to you, but it takes the advantage from them.

The only problem with the honeycomb base is grenade launchers/ rocket turrets , people only ever seem to use them on Quetzal, so the honeycomb is basically uselesd

I agree not only that you can throw c4 from the door you just blew onto the next door and so on or just rocket run it. I agree layer up the walls ceilings etc but make each layer more than 1 foundation wide

"Check your surroundings" is WAAAAAY under rated, best advice you can possibly take. You have no idea how many other players I've just walked right up to in broad daylight and robbed/murdered/enslaved just cuz they weren't paying attention. Having played a build as a solo raider, I LIVED for that guy with tunnel vision and a big fat stack of good gear and rare resources to come blundering along, clueless that I am just gonna walk right up and gank him. I've actually deliberatley followed people waiting for them to stack up as much metal as they can carry for me before I attacked. Sometimes didn't even have to be sneaky. Just kinda stood there in broad daylight watching them unwittingly mine for me.

@@pterafier Not only does it maximize loot, but whats the first thing a person with full inventory does? More often than not they open up thier UI to check it, making them even more vulnerable. To add icing on the cake, if they got greedy and encumbered themselves they also can't run away. If I'm playing as a raider, its in my every interest to bide my time. PS: I just realized Ark may have turned me into a psychopath.

Use honeycomb design. Tame arthros, bats, and spiders for the center. Do this several times around map. Build main base somewhere else. Sit back and enjoy

Dont you think C4 have blow up effect? And you use beer to suicide with C4 or rockets,, assault rifle is the worst gun for pvp, use fabi or compound bow, and dont use dimorphodon in PVP, only microraptor cause it has a stun

If i remember correctly, Dimorphadons are amazing PvP dinos. They will directly damage enemy players, even if they're on a mount. A swarm of ten Dimorphs will absolutely tear up an unsuspecting player. Also, great for base defense since they're small and hard to hit.

@@kosmile1737 Dimorphs can reach higher places though. They're small, fast, and unlike Microraptors, they will damage an enemy player directly. While the stun is great, the distraction provided by a swarm of Dimorphs can be just as useful. Ultimately, its up to situation and personal preference.

I would go a step further,not only would I go the honeycomb route. But I would also have both the mini bases and main base ,all built at the center of a labyrinth of death. Preferably a series of interconnected labyrinths of death,all designed to ruthlessly kill the raiders,as well as ensure they have to spend far to many resources.Enough to make the cost of raiding you,FAR exceed their potential profit.

Don’t open parachutes so high up. Enemy isn’t an idiot they wont leave you alone lol. With parachute you fall super slow. So wait until you open the parachute when it is really close to the ground and when you open use your cross bow and grappling to speed up your descent. When you touch the ground hide between the trees or rocks if no available ones use your cross bow and grappling yourself to the ground put the crossbow away without unhooking yourself and get ready to bola the ptera :) when you do rider will fall down then unteach yourself with the cross bow or just drop it and use club to knock the enemy rider

Sooooo... if you just spam your inventory button (E, B, Circle) before you hit the ground it just resets fall distance. I see a lot about the parachute but this eliminates the need for it completely. Not sure if it’s well known 🤷🏼‍♂️

Another strategy with regards to the dimorphodon is to raise a flock, 10 to 20 and have them follow you. Most will think twice about attacking you as the dimorphodon hits the rider through the saddle and in these numbers will tear up most threats in seconds. Yes I'm that crazy dimorphodon guy that you don't want to anger unless you won't end up as food for my babies 😂

Honestly, most of the bosses can be wiped using a dozen or so Damage and Health focused Rexs, Spinos, Rock Golems, and a Yutyranus for buffs/debuffs.

Ya know I found a second way to make a soda useful other than getting more eggs. You tame a dodo and carry it around because their slow, and when a carnivore goes to attack you, you throw the dodo at it. I call it the dodo distraction.

Honestly, I don’t make bases. I like to make thatch foundations and I play on unofficial PvP server so I get my dinos in cryos from drops and then just carry them. But if I’m about to raid or see an enemy I might underestimate or completely kill me, I put down a sleeping bag and depending on how much stuff I have, I also put down either a small storage box, large storage box, or even a vault. But I hide the vault as much as possible of make a 1x1x2 and double layer it. Then I take not my worst armor but not my best armor, or weapons. So, basically, I’m a scavenger or something else idk.
