@@calisongbird Feral pigs. Domesticated pigs that have gone wild and not a native animal. They are a huge problem not just in Australia but also in the U.S.. Much larger, dangerous, much more destructive to humans, farms, and the environment than their wild cousins. Also can be big carriers of disease. Populations need to at least be controlled if not eradicated.

@@missnyb7351 Its actually a terrible idea to go into a burning building if you're wet under most circumstances (it's a pretty bad idea to go into a burning at all). The water on your skin and clothes turns to steam really fast and that steam will burn you a lot faster than the flames will since your skin can't react as well to the heated water vapor. If you're going from a burning building to outside in the early stages of the fire, it can help if youre lucky. But taking a round trip into the building from outside you want to be dry.

That full upright stance is the roo positioning to do a back leg kick, which can kill a human. That punch let the roo know he was facing a worthy appointment, and made the roo think twice. I am 74…when I was a child…must have been 4 years old, we lived in Lubbock, Texas…back then children ran all over unheeded. One day, I happened to look inside the gate of a tall wooden fence that surrounded a back yard when I spotted a cocker spaniel splashing in a swimming pool trying to get out unsuccessfully. I ran if and flopped down on the ground by the edge of the pool where the puppy was splashing, reached out and grabbed it…and gave as might a pull as I could manage. I was able to get the dog out and to my young mind, it was now safe. The pup ran up onto a porch and into a doggie door while I ran out and hightailed it home. I never told my mother because I knew I would probably get a spanking but I was always glad that I had pulled the little dog out of that pool. I guess that little dog has been gone for 60 years or more now but I have never forgotten it and I hope it had good thoughts about little redheaded, freckled-faced girls now and again.

@scoutylugs
@scoutylugs 10 ай бұрын
100% For all the idiots complaining about that punch to the kangaroo, if you’re not from Aust and/or haven’t dealt with Roos or seen how they fight… stfu. The Roo was not hurt, it was just given a shock to back it off from an attack and given where ol boy found himself after rescuing his dog, it was necessary. That Roo’s posture is half bluff, half prep to fight. Roo’s postured up like that are deciding if they’re about to lean back on their tail and let loose with those back legs and then move in to F you up! You can see it loading up to attack as it shuffles forward with its weight supported by its tail so it can let those hind legs fly. It shunts forward a few times to get in range as it’s deciding whether to attack or not. That’s a fighting move/shuffle, not a normal kangaroo hop. Ol boy here puffed up also (natural) gave the Roo a quick a shock, stepped back and then they both disengaged. In the circumstances he possibly saved himself a serious injury (we can’t tell what the Roo MIGHT have done - but we can sure say the shock of it made the Roo reconsider and not act). Also, the Roo wasn’t a Red (per some comments) and also nowhere near 6’5” (like some Reds can get) as you can see even postured up it’s still just shorter than guy. BUT a strong large Grey roo can still F you up badly. I’m NOT advocating nor condemning hunting, am making no comment on the dog getting caught to start with or why they were there - that’s a YOU position to decide, HOWEVER if you’ve just run in to save your Dog and a big Grey shapes up, you wanna try and back it off BEFORE it decides to lean into that tail and let loose with the hind legs. Greys regularly fight each other where I’m from. We’ve had to stop soccer games and practise because they have come into the pitch to go at each other and i can tell you, an angry Roo is scarier than you may think. They’re also much much stronger and tougher than you’d imagine. I’ve had a Roo half this size jump out in front of my car at night while I was doing around 25mph (40km/hr) and when I hit it, it was thrown at LEAST 40 feet down the road, sliding on the bitumen before getting up, looking around and hopping off without any major visible injuries. Was awful that it was hit and I hope it was ultimately ok, but I can tell you, they’re TOUGH! This punch did nothing to really hurt the guy, it just backed him out of attacking. Finally - these lads are Aussie hunters going after pigs. Believe me when I say they are armed to take that Roo out without a seconds hesitation - but they don’t, they let it leave once his dog is safe. If anything, that was what surprised me given the normal culture of pig (and roo) shooting - he just wanted his dog safe and they let the Roo on it’s way. Many hunting groups wouldn’t have.

@@calisongbird Go face off against a wild boar. IF you survive the encounter, which is highly unlikely becuse they weigh around 800 pounds and will attack and kill unprovoked, THEN come back and whine about people hunting them. I, for one, am very thankful for the men who hunt wild boar, because wild pigs will destroy acres upon acres of farmland in one night, and they won't even eat everything they destroy. The men who hunt them also dress them in the field and then donate the meat to help feed poor people. So nothing of the hunt goes to waste, the farm's produce is saved, and an extremely dangerous animal is culled. Win, win, win!

Not the same but funny. My father, I and my eldest (as a toddler) were looking at Llama which were behind a fence. One spat in his eye. My father looked so insulted and angry. I could see what he was going to do as he shifted his jaw up and down to gather up spittle before sending it flying in the face of the llama, leaving the animal looking disbelieving and insulted before it turned its face to give what looked like a sneer, turned and walked off. If course llama do that to temporarily blind a potential attacker so for some reason it must have decided my tall father was a danger. I didn't laugh at the time. I was highly embarrassed as there were other people watching, tutting etc but in time I had to laugh when I remembered that llama's face and the attempt at a sneer.

But they weren't the ones laying on my lap everyday, literally knowing when I was in pain and how to help me through it, and all bias aside, she was the most gentle and loving animal I've ever met. I would've ran into a burning house for her. I would've climbed a deadly high height to save her. I would done just about anything to keep her alive. I spend tons of money just to prolong her life and give her some comfort before I had to make the hard choice. And, even then, I almost didn't go through with it. But, I knew she was hurting so I did it. It's been over a year and I still well up from time to time if I'm looking through pictures of her. She was cute a button too. She was an angel in cat form.

She is my 6th and last legally. Wish I could take more in. We've upgraded our apartment to a 3 bedroom sp we have all the room for our family. Cats are everything. I feed all the strays, I de-flea them, make sure I give them all love before and after work. There's 25 cats in my area I've counted, 10 are tattooed, and I feed them all! I can't stand seeing these cats hungry Some I have taken in and rescues have picked them up and adopted them out. I do what I can. And will continue to help as many cats as I can.

I think it is strange how the fireman barely react that this man just ran into a burning building. I know that they shouldn't have to put their lives at risk but they didn't even seem to react to the guy.

He got that Roo right on the button. Nice shot. And BTW the Roo was talking with the boys at the pub that night and said "I finally met a human I respect. Got me right on the buzzer."

Every one of the owners, I have much respect for. But what the man said about the alligator is awesome.

My only concern is how edited the video was. Perhaps for graphic reasons, but it appears fishy. I’ve seen this video multiple times and have never seen what led to the encounter.

@@WontSeeReplies What led to it, they said in the video, was he was walking his dog near the pond, and the gator rocketed out of the water and grabbed the dog. Those gators are fearless.
