There's rope drop, and then there's closing the park. 2 hours at the beginning and end of a Disneyland day that are usually the best times to hit a BUNCH of attractions.
It's also a great time to hit the most popular attractions. Like Rise of the Resistance, which is our plan tonight. Let's see how easy it is to hit Rise late, then crush the rest of the park from 10pm on.
And we did. It went really well. We got bonus time AND a churro!

Ironically I saw you in the park by Toontown a couple weeks back on our last day. We have 2 young kids and have been just burning thru the whole day until they get tired around 930 or so. The park I think closed at 10 that night and my youngest and wife went back to the hotel and I took my son who had tears in his eyes because it was almost over and showed him the magic of closing the park down. At around 810 or so we hit Smugglers, we're gonna hit Rise but it was closed, Pirates, Indy, and Started Tours. I made the plan in line at Smugglers watching him excitedly anticipate hitting all these BIG rides and getting excited myself. It's a joy to watch you do the same and I although I'm sad they are growing up I am excited to spend late Disney nights with them!

A cast member was so nice to let me ride the Fantasyland side. She told me to go to the Tomorrowland side, but I begged her to let me go to the Fantasyland side. I told her I'd never been on that side. She sent me to the front of the the line on that side. It was a totally different, less painful experience.

The trick to riding the Matterhorn is 1. Don't lean back- lean forward 2. Lean with the bobsled around the turns as if you were riding a real bobsled. It makes all the difference!!

We always take advantage of the last two hours. So many rides in the last two hours. It's so much fun racing around jumping on ride after ride. We tend to do, Rise, then Indy, pirates, thunder mountain, Peter pan, star tours. Give or take in that order. Space mountain as well if we're lucky.

What a crazy video for you to post. I just went to Disney this last Friday night. From 9 to midnight it was so empty we hit so many rides with my son. And we went on haunted mansion back to back to end the night. No virtual queues just walked on. I was thinking man Fresh baked should do a video on this. 😂

I close every Disneyland visit with a ride on Space Mountain just before close. It's one of my favorite things to do there. The park is indeed so surreal at that hour. I don't know why I've never lingered longer but I guess I'm always so wiped out and just want to go to bed!

One time we had a late arrival due to airlines and so was so bummed but we got so much done in the evening, especially with “second rope drop” for fantasy land after the fireworks. Disneyland at night is magical and super time efficient. Thanks for the video!

@27:09 I've seen this before and it has always baffled me why the sky sometimes looks illuminated. Can someone explain this phenomenon? It's getting late in the evening there, but the sky isn't dark. Over the last few years, I haven't stayed past 6 or 7pm at the park and I miss the nighttime magic of Disneyland. Just seeing the park at night again brings a tear to my eye. When I retire, my bucket list check-off is to work at the park for one year. It's been on my bucket list since I was 11. I'll be able to see Disneyland at night for a year if I'm lucky. I was able to hit 8 attractions the first hour when i rope dropped last thursday! Mr Toads wild ride, Pinnocchio, snow whites enchanted wish, casey jr train, mad tea party, alice in wonderland, roger rabbit , mickey and Minnie's runaway railway. My new record!

I went on a Tuesday night 7pm in October and wow! Rise of the resistance twice, (back to back), Winnie the Pooh, Indie, Big Thunder, Matterhorn and MM Runaway Railway! It was the most epic night!

I was there with my family on Friday the 8th. We were in the park at 5:30 p.m. and left at 10:50 p.m. The first thing we did was grab some dinner at Rancho. After that, we started to get on some rides. We were able to ride seven rides between both parks, including a pass preview for Tiana's. When we went to the DCA side we had time for two beers as well.

Saving Rise or Indy for park close is scary to me since those rides are so prone to downtime- Rise especially since it closes early. Hate to miss your shot at getting on if it goes down. Love the feeling of being in the park around closing time with the other die-hards.

My 5 year old for the first time early entry, nap to closing it down this year! It was great. She has been training since she was 4 months old lol. I am used to her starting to show signs of needing to go back and she just kept going! She even needed a cool down when we got to the room! It was super fun! Hi David. Love your content. As you continue exploring Lightning Pass, id be interested in knowing total time saved at the end of the day. (sum of standby lines - lightning lines). Ive found myself hovering around an attraction for 5ish mins waiting for my LL to activate, which I essentially count as waiting in line. I bet the overall time savings may not be as much as people think, but just a hunch.

I did get onto Rise twice last time I was in the park. One time was by doing rope-drop but since I was staying on property we were able to be at the front of the line when the rope drop happened (that area doesn't open early for ... do they still call it "Extra Magic Hours" or something?) That time was fairly quick, but the other time I looked and saw it was closed due to a malfunction, and decided to just walk past just in case. Sure enough, we almost walked on because it came back on line moments before we got there. Both rides were with full Kylo Ren which was awfully nice

If you are talking about the new Premier Pass, the Disneyland version is $400 right now (apparently next year it will vary between $300-400 likely based on demand). I don't think he was using it in this video since he was waiting in all the regular queues.

Why do Space last when it’s an indoor ride? I would always do indoor rides during the day and leave the outdoor ones for the night time because many of them are really better at night.
