I wouldn't say so. He praised all of the keyboards and didn't talk about keybed at all which is most important part of midi keyboard

Very interesting presentation - but I would like to learn more about the most compact in the D (depth dimension) - the ones that you would like to put in front of your laptop without pushing it too further from your eyes and hands. most keyboards mentioned are related to the W (width) dimension which is important for the number of keys portability but less important if you are editing on a laptop.

That’s cool that you also show the usage cases or basically in action.

They’re all compromised in some way from my experience the most important thing overall is the number of keys. They are keyboards at the end of the day and having just a couple of octaves to play with is very limiting and frustrating.

Great video. It's good to see some love for the Nektar keyboard. One thing, though - the Impact LX25+ is not exactly small and definitely won't fit in a normal-size backpack. It's nearly 19 inches long, and shares depth and widtth with two larger controllers in the same line, the LX49+ and LX61+. Still, it has full-size keys and tons of controls (its pad learn feature is VERY nice), and I recommend it to anyone who needs a 25-key controller (I owned it and I currently use the LX88+).

I mean - the video wasn't about portable controllers - it just so happens that this price range is mostly filled with portable controllers.

Hey, great video! I've actually a small recommendation on a next keyboard review; McGrey Sp-100. It's a very peculiar one as there is literally nothing on the internet that reviews it. It's an 88-keyed digital stage piano with hammer actions. I bought it for around 305$ (or a lesser number with pounds) and it sounds strange. With the sustain feature turned on, when I play a chord with 8 fingers, it all weirdly cancels out and glitches out. When I play with my fingers, sometimes the notes are louder than supposed to be, especially on fast fingering. Please take a look at it, it is sold on ebay or whatever site it's also on.

As a gear nerd but guitarist, I'm still wrapping my head around a few things. If you want to play with an arpeggiator, do you need the midi keyboard to have that feature as a controller, the thing you're controlling (eg a synth plugin) or is a bit of a mixture of both? For instance, I've got an IK Multimedia Uno and a Korg Volca Keys and the IK has an arpeggiator but the Volca doen't. I know that I can send midi from the IK to the Volca and then get arpeggois which is awesome. But I have to spend a 3 weeks in hospital every 3 months and I wanna be able to not use those annoying little keys on the IK and the Volca and would like more of an octave range

@@noahswan6014 - And proud of it, although my 22 year old son and ALL his musician friends say the same thing. It's ok though, it's not your fault if you don't know how to make music for yourself. I think one must have it in one's blood to really appreciate the passion and hard work that goes into making real music. Too bad no one knows how to do it anymore these days 😢 It's embarrassing to call people that can draw ready made sounds out of an electronic gadget "musicians". The real art of music is dead, and musicians aren't made anymore. At least boomers make good musicians (REAL musicians) 😊
@noahswan60144 жыл бұрын
Lexxii I’m guessing you’re talking about peactice time, tuning, running around town to find the guy who knows that one chord you don’t and all. In that case I see your point. However, here the process is just different. Less of a hassle on certain aspects and more of a hassle on others. Still I wouldn’t call these producers talentless, nor I would call their music noise seen as how it can still convey emotion, which noise can’t. Take my comment with a pinch of salt (the boomer one). It was meant as more of an annoying overused meme/joke than an actual jab to your self-confidence and age group. Have a nice week!
