Tell me what you think of Slovenia and whether you would retire here. Would love to hear your comments!

RoninBlue - have you ever been visited this country?
@simplyunrelated3 жыл бұрын
Consider Serbia instead. My family of 4 is moving there next year. Cost of great living for the family of 4 is under $1800 and that's including rent. Many executives from USA moved there. My family and I live in New Jersey for the past 26 years and it is time to move back. Just in case, if you wonder how do I know all that, I am originally from Serbia.

@@rubytuesday9539 This video is very old. Would you recommend not retiring in Slovenia now? Did you finally move? I would like to live in the outskirts of a city because I need a house with a yard. I like Celje from what I've seen online, but I'm sure there are many other areas to consider.

Beautiful country and beautiful people! I have family there and have visited twice. I may retire there someday, now I'm caring for my elderly mom and stuck in the US.

I have family in Slovenia and have been there three times to visit. I love the country. It is all you mentioned, and most people speak English. Also, people are open and friendly with Americans, something not all countries in Europe are. I don't know about retiring in Slovenia, but I do want to spend more time there, and hope to in the near future.

Seems ideal in terms of low cost, nature for physical fitness & enjoyment, friendly people, ideal location geographically to many Central European countries for travel, etc. The main challenge would be to learn Slovenian & possibly another language like Italian. I’m fluent in English and also have some French....it might not be too hard to pick-up some Slovenian & Italian (at least from my perspective).😊

So what does an expat need to have document/paperwork wise to move & live in Slovenia when you don't have family there? Also, we will be bringing our pet.

All those commenting about his lack of knowledge of the language, he's learning. Give him a break. Slovenia is one of the most wonderful countries. Who says Americans wouldn't move there? I expect to do so within the year. Can't think of a better place to go to live well, comfortably, safely, and happily. With my dog. Slovenes are kind, generous and smile a lot. And so many speak such good English -better than mine. Can't wait to make it home. As for the difference between Slovenia and Hungary or Croatia - holy cow, where have you people been? Hungary is run by a fascist dictator admired by such bozos as Trump and Tucker Carlson...and Croatia was the home of the Catholic grestapo in WWII . Meanwhile, Slovenia had a courageous and amazing resistance movement in both WWI and WWII. Apparently, our host isn't the only one who could use some broader education.

Before talking so much and saying so little, you should of checked out geography and history books!! You said a lot of inexact facts. Maybe due to that, Americans will not move to slovenia. Sincerely thank you.

Yes, I plan to move from France to Slovenia for retirement. Easy to do as an American and a permanent resident of France. Please do not make more videos on Slovenia. I don't want a lot of tourist coming that will degrade the place with their woke ideas.
