Nice video, but I think you forgot a team: SC Braga. Before the turn of the century they weren't even that great in the portuguese league, more of a mid-tabble team, usually finishing 7th-10th, and only 1 portuguese cup as silverware. Since 2003-2004, when their current president got in charge, António Salvador, they managed to establish themselves as the 4th strongest portuguese team with 9x4th place, 2x3rd, 1x2nd, in 17 seasons. Won 1 portuguese cup and 2 league cups. Got into Champions League Group Stage twice (1x3rd, 1x4th) Got into the group stage of Europa League(or were dropouts from Champions) 10 times, getting past the group stage 9 times out of 10, even managing to get to the Europa League final in 2010/2011, in a amazing campaign were they started in the Champions League finishing third on the group with 9 points, went to the Europa League and even knocked out Liverpool but ended losing 1-0 in the final to Porto. They also got a new stadium with the Euro 2004. Currently, they are focusing more and more into developing youngsters, and are starting to get good results with the likes of Francisco Trincão who left for Barcelona this past summer for a record breaking sell for the club of around 30M€. Quite impressive considering many of those years they had quite low budgets (10M or less) and their home city has around 200k people. It isn't just a good season, but consistent results, fruit of a good management. From portuguese mid-table mediocrity to Europa League knock-out stages regulars, I feel like they have over achieved more than pretty much any club on this list, but not even a honorable mention.

This list's name should be "7 football clubs I should be supporting because I'm a sucker for good management". While trophies are valuable as they're the main prize, there's a certain sense of pride in knowing that the club is being run with people with good intentions and are representative of the area they come from, which makes it all the more worthy for fans to donate and ensure sustainability in the form of buying merchandises (and tickets, when fans are allowed to show up to the stands again). Edit: ok maybe not RB Salzburg but their story is still quite intriguing Edit: since we have three Basque clubs mentioned in this list, can you make one talking about which regions in the world are considered footballing hotbeds?

I know you didn’t want to give them a mention in the system, but what Daniel Levy and ENIC have done at Spurs in the last 20 years is truly astounding. Taking them from mid table mediocrity for 30 million from Alan Sugar, to a champions league final, consistent featuring in the top 6, usually top 4 recently, excellent wage policies and transfer policies and building the club further and further over time. The progress in the last 10 years specifically is truly astounding, going from White Hart Lane to the 1 billion pound TH stadium, the best training facilities in the world, José Mourinho as their manager and a squad filled with not only excellent home grown players like Kane, but also unbelievable imports on he cheap such as Son and Lloris. Levy doesn’t get the credit he’s due for some reason, but what he’s done for spurs is truly outstanding

I feel like Shakhtar deserves a spot here. As a long time fan I know that they out a huge emphasis on youth players but also on actual success. There is not matter of luck involved in how they consistently win the league and do well in Europe. This is all despite the turbulent atmosphere of Ukrainian football

Leicester over the past 5 or 6 years has seemingly been run very well (maybe even longer for all I know). They have sold a handful of players like Kante, Drinkwater, Mahrez, Maguire, and Chilwell for big profits (over 300 million in transfer fees just for those five players), have been pretty intelligent in many of their additions (if Leicester sold Maddison, Söyüncü, Ricardo, and Ndidi for their current market values they would make a combined 95 million in profit from what they paid to acquire them all within the past few seasons), and they still have a few guys around from that Premier League title-winning side playing a bit like it's still 2015 in Vardy, Schmeichel, and to a degree Fuchs and Albrighton. Really the only misses they've had in the past few years have been Slimani, Iheanacho, and Perez, but the latter two have at least contributed somewhat and still have a bit of resale value if the club were to take that route. All in all given their continued competitiveness and staying power in the league, holding their own when given opportunities in Europe, the fact their ground seems to be one of the more raucous in the league when there isn't a pandemic ongoing (and is still a relatively newer stadium), and their profitability in the market, I thought they would have been a shoe-in for this list, or at least get a shout-out.

Honorable Mention Ajax: certainly worth a mention / video. World power in the 70s. World power in mid 90s. Players walking out of the club for free. Non-football directors in the board in the 2000's. Cruyff's vision and the pro and con Cruyff camps leading to tough years. And then they got Overmars and v.d. Sar in. Now they are making 100s of millions (de Jong, de Ligt, vd Beek, Davinson Sanchez, but also Milik etc). Great youth academy. European 'success' in the last 6 years. Being able to compete with the Real Madrid in acquiring youth talent from South America. But also the tragic of Nouri. And now the first example of a talent, walking out of the club for free because of the success of Ajax an less of a chance of playing (Brobby (by Raiola) to RB Leipzig). Will it be a downwards spiral; or will it become the Dutch Bayern Munich.

How about a video covering seven different dream line-ups. Build each with unique formations and no overlapping players. The teams could also hypothetically be in the same league, hopefully adding more purpose and considering to the structures. Then, which team would win a 24 game season? Thanks for the excellent content!

i somewhat agree to most of the clubs being on the list, but i think Bodo/Glimt should've been on it. After bein relegated in 2017, they have come back stronger than any other team in norwegian history. their policy of 40% local players and unbelievable academy they have produced some of the greatest to ever be on a norwegian pitch. they have made benched players from all over scandinavia shine, and that is not because of the lack of skill in the league, because they almost clinched extra time against ac milan, who actually bought a glimt player after the match because they were impressed by him. a team who almost only go for northern norwegian players and still being able to compete against some of Euros best teams should, in my opinion be on this list, even though their policies might be close to the real sociedad policy of basque players. imo

Surely a bit biased but really surprised Gladbach is not on the list. Barely survived in the Bundesliga in 2011 against Bochum in the Playoffs, then CL Playoffs a year later. Since then we played several times in Europe, we made it through a not so easy Group with Inter, Real and Donezk and sold players like Reus, Dante (Triple winner with Bayern), Xhaka, ter Stegen, Kruse, Dahoud, Hazard and so on. Dahoud and ter Stegen came through our youth academy, Patrick Herrmann came through it as well and has passed Günter Netzer in regards of most games for our club. Max Eberl (Manager) has been doing an outstanding job considering all this and that we were almost bankrupt in the early 00's. Now we could lose our coach to Dortmund (yeah, super thrilled about losing another part of our success to THAT Borussia...) and players like Neuhaus, Zakaria, Thuram and Elvedi are also very interesting for a lot good clubs in Europe (personally I think Zak will leave for Bayern and Neuhaus will leave next season for a very big club. He is like a younger, more dynamic version of Kroos).

I think that my club Benfica deserve an honourable mention at least, despite having extraordinary debts, it is under control and getting smaller every season, as the player sales are huge and there are always new academy products ready to step up and add to an already rich squad. The recent buy of Darwin Núñez will most certanly generate a big profit, even though it was the most expensive transfer in the clubs history. On-field results are also considerably large. Great video anyways.
