I checked out Las Cuatro Milpas on my trip and I am so glad I did! The beans tasted just like my mom’s beans and the tamales were the best I’ve ever had. We waited in line for about 20 minutes but it was so worth the wait! Thank you for the recommendation!

Not bad at all. Took a look at the blog post, honestly it's hard to go wrong in San Diego. I concur with pretty much all. Ramen for me is rakiraki, fried chicken is streetcar merchants. While tacos el gordo is king, Lucha libre is my dark horse for having variations of cali burritos and dips for the fresh nachos. Snooze or hash house for breakfast. Bubble tea since it's a thing out there, m.i.tea. Specifically the rose blossom. And the ice cream of choice right after rakiraki: somi somi just a few meters away.

Cuatro Milpas is a great pick (go in the day though, it's not a neighborhood I would consider safe at night). Great Maple is good but not great IMO, haven't eaten at your other picks but they do look good, and I have been meaning to try Puesto for a while.

As a visitor, mentioning the name of a restaurant without a location does not help me get a meal. Many San Diegans cite places that are outside of the city proper, but "everyone" knows where it is. Not true only the Little Italy seafood restaurant is identified.

Strongly disagree- LOVED the food here and literally tried all of the reputable breakfast spots in town! But I haven't tried the puppy patty. Not sure what else you ordered but the maple donuts and chilaquiles were my favorites- worth trying if you decide to give it a second chance. Thanks for your comment!

i have to say you sort of blew it on the las cuatros milpas recommendation. roll tacos are cool, but the regular tacos are waaay better. also the rice/beans/tamale bowl is cool, but the chorizo bowl is their staple. cool vid though.

I agree with most of these recommendations. All accept Puesto. Puesto is extremely overpriced, and if you want good street taco s go somewhere else. If your fine paying $25 eating 3 street tacos and a margarita that tast like chipotle’s, then come here. But if you want authentic, go to Los Cuatros Miles’s. But Puesto is an overpriced chain.

Puestos is straight junk, worst tacos here, if you’re a local you know besides it’s a Tourist Trap. If you want a real taco go to South Beach Bar & Grill located in Ocean Beach or Oscar’s in Hill Crest.
