I loved LIMBO so much! The secret secret eggs were a real pain to find, but I did manage it after many... many... many... hours. The bonus puzzle levels in Ilomilo were fantastically mind bending, IMO. The only thing that kept me from rage quitting one of them was the adorable soundtrack.

No God of war original trilogy bonus levels or Bayonetta challenge levels?

Pretty sure bayonetta was kept off because that game is clearly a homage to DMC so it'd be redundant. And GoW takes inspiration from it too. Not to say they arent hard but I imagine youtube creators wanna showcase variety

Rodin in Bayonetta was such a cool bonus level! Especially because it isn't necessarily secret so much as it is difficult to get to to begin with. Plus, the boss fight is pretty epic, considering you've taken on city sized monsters in game already.

Honestly, the brutal bonus levels from the more recent 3D Mario games could make up half of a list on their own. Odyssey had the "Darker Side", 3D Land had the harder "Special 8-CROWN", and 3D World had the even harder "Champion's Road". Super Mario Galaxy 2's "The Perfect Run" definitely tops the list, though, as it's a nightmarish gauntlet of platforming and dodging where taking even *one single hit* means instant death and restarting from the very beginning. At least in the other brutal bonus levels, you're allowed to take damage...

Good lord! Can you at least kill a boss, then get a prompt asking if you want to leave and return?
@bartoszkrawczyk59215 жыл бұрын
Nope. All 43 bosses and minibosses of the game. Back to back. Sometimes a room for a breather. Oh, did i mention some bosses are buffed, like a battle with Mantis Lords where instead of fighting you 1v1 and 2v1 - they all come at once? And included in the buffs are two end bosses who were already tough as nails? Yeah, it's amazing.

Hollow Knight has several of these! Such as the aptly named Path of Pain Bonus bosses such as Nightmare King Grimm And the Pantheon of Hallownest challenge in the last DLC that's a boss rush against EVERY boss in the game culminating in an even more difficult version of the Radiance fight (as if she wasn't already difficult enough...)

Legend of Zelda gauntlets... Twilight princess's in particular. These are out of the way most times, hidden in a late game area, and have no quests attached to them. Literally just a gauntlet with very few breaks or rewards. They're not difficult if you know what to expect, but for the woefully under-prepared, it's like fighting Ganon with the Kokiri sword and wooden shield only, but 20+ times with increasing difficulty.
