xxX_MLG_Banana_Xxx here is the states I found a 68 coupe for $3000 all it needed was rust repair and a new interior, next time you want a American classic try looking in in America (probably the south) and ship it to where you live, it will be a long process but it will be a whole lot cheaper

Nova well it wasn't a standard coupe, rather a fastback c-code, but yes this logic still applies. However it would be very inconvenient in terms of checking the car out and going for a test drive due to the distance. Nonetheless I'm planning to bring it with me to college back to US after we restore it

@Pony Emires Unite Ferrari and De Tomaso have NEVER EVER built sports cars, but EXOTIC cars. Yes, they're both sports/performance-oriented, but are still DIFFERENT. Like literally, different in EVERYTHING. That's why you DON'T call an RX-7 (for example) a supercar, but a SPORTS car, because it's NOT EVEN CLOSE to supercars (except when its performances are HEAVILY tuned). It's a pure sports car (and nothing more), except that it only looks like a GT (another type of exotic car) but that's when you draw the line.

Ford Sierra RS was sold here in the USA as Merkur xr4Ti (through Ford's Mercury division). It had the 2.3 liter turbo engine from the Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (over 200 horsepower). It didn't sell well, and the survivors are very underappreciated here...

The greatest hidden gem of American cars right now would be the 1966/67 Oldsmobile Toronado. It had more power than most "Muscle Cars" from the era, thanks to a monster V8, could top out at 130 MPH on a pedestrian 3-speed automatic transmission and was the first front wheel drive production car sold in America. Oh. And it served as the basis for the 1967 & beyond Cadillac Eldorado. Ugly as sin, this car is, but it could rip the throat out of most muscle cars and the front wheel drive made it far more road worthy than the competition.
