this is my honest review of the tour, only 300 rupees you say, I would not take this tour again if you paid me 3000 rupees. Be honest about what takes place on the tour before the tour starts so people know what they're getting themselves into. If they were honest about the tour and that we would be taken to a lot of stores so the driver can earn a commission, then we wouldn't have taken the tour int he first place and this video would not exist. Reviews help business learn and customers know what to expect.

Sir, with all due respect, you have no idea how annoying it is, to be almost forced to go to a very expensive shops that you would never visit otherwise. I was on one of those tuk tuk tours before too and I hated it. I don't care if it costs 300 or 600 rupee for a ride, all I care is not to be bothered about expensive souvenirs and shop visits. If I pay 600 rupee and tell the driver, "take me on a sightseeing tour, just driving around, no shops, no souvenirs", then he should respect that. I expect a tour ride that I paid for. And do you even know how expensive some of those things in shops are? They tried to sell us carpets for 10 000 dollars. Seriously?? All the items in all shops I've visited were extremely pricey and nothing that'd be interested in buying, even if it was cheap. I didn't care about any of that.

Hello sir, good day to you. I am Shihab and i am also a tuk tuk driver in fort kochi. I watched the entire video. First n foremost, i apologize for the bad experience you had. However, please bare in mind that we dont earn commissions from every shops you enter. From the video we see, its just the main shops that most of the tourists visits n also all those famous shops in Fort kochi. Perhaps, the driver was just bringing you around as what is normal for all the tourist to enjoy. Moreover, the fare 300 rupees for 3-4hrs is very fair. On top of all this, making a video to stop supporting all the tuk tuk drivers here is just directly hitting our Rice bowl sir. That little bit money you pay us is not for us to live a luxurious life, just for our family to have 2 meals a day. As a tuk tuk driver, i have been very honest to my work n so are many of my friends. Hope we could serve you better the next time around. Thank you and all the best to you! 🙏

I didn't complain about the fare, i complained about the misleading tour and the hours of awkward time spend walking around being pressured to buy things in expensive tourist traps/shops, we told them we didn't want to go to shops or buy anything at the start of the tour. I wouldn't pay 1 rupee to go on this tour if I knew in advance what the tour was going to be like, they made out that we were going to go on a tour of fort kochi, this was not the case. you guys are making other tuk tuk drivers look bad with this kind of dishonesty.

I am from Kochi, this auto guy was cheating Rs 300 is more than enough for 4 people(Rs 600 is double) sight seeing Fort Kochi/Mattancherry. I don't mind my people getting good charges but scams will spoil tourism.

Hi Django. I had a similar experience in Bangkok once. A “tour” made a detour to a gold shop (which was of zero interest to me) and an overpriced tailor (zero interest again) but it didn’t drag on as long as your tour.

Oh a gold shop sounds like no fun at all. It was a good lesson learned, since this we've had zero issues in India, it's an amazing country with amongst the friendliest people we've ever encountered. I dont think its a scam or anything to avoid, its a standard tour guide practice across the global, I have exp.. this in Greece, Egypt, Thailand and Other parts of India, If you had taken individual tuk tuk across all destination it would have costed you way more than Rs300, cost of Petrol itself is Rs90+/liter, secondly the tuk tuk driver told you honestly that he gets a commission for the same.. You have to be smart traveler as well to take advantage of such things, I went to these shops see the things i like and take pics of it and then when the tour ended, I asked the same Tuk Tuk showing him the pics of the clothes/things and i want to buy them from the local market and he took me to the narrow local market where i bought those things at 10th of the cost, a Win Win for both me and tuktuk driver.

Lady, speak for yourself! I'm sorry but you're wrong! It is a scam, I was on one of those tours too. And I've also been to places like Thailand, Greece, Spain before and I haven't experienced anything annoying like this before .I pay for the tour ride around, no shops, no souvenirs and I expect the service I paid for.. just a ride and some sightseeing. They said ok and never mentioned anything about the commissions they take from the shops, but he did mention commissions and told us to go to the shops in the middle of the ride, made us feel guilty and annoyed! So it's very cunning and misleading and I DON'T APPRECIATE THAT! I want to have a good, relaxing time. I'm glad he made a video warning tourists about traps like that because it is a trap and scam and most tourists want to avoid that. So for the video maker I say thank you and keep up the great work! 👍🏼 😊
