ok so idk if you cover multiplayer stuff, but when my modded character dies and comes back after the boss, the character loses all costumes, (the hair and body costume) and I wanted to know if you could do anything to rectify this. I know item costumes disappear after coming back, but I'm wondering if that can be fixed.

Hey there, uh, I've been trying to add custom stats to my character mod pack (Adding strength, lowering speed, etc.) And you mentioned something about that 12:25, where you'll discuss about it elsewhere. Is there a video that goes over it? I have found Jack shit in terms of editing base stats. Great tutorial tho

Hi what if you want to mod existing characters like for example changing azazels base stats

Can you tell the names of the other base stats? I know Damage, ShotSpeed, MoveSpeed, Luck, CanFly, TearFlags, TearColor. I am missing how fire rate and fire distance are called.

How do you change the character's base starting stats and stat multipliers? Fantastic tutorial btw, really helped me get started with modding

you cant truly alter stat multipliers at all. for changing base stats (and for directly multiplying them), it's similar to the code for giving a stat up item (see episode 2), except you checked for if the player is of the right PlayerType instead of if they have the item. that's the best i can explain it in a youtube comment.

hello, I'm currently making a mod that changes the lost's appearance, by replacing his regular body with one of an angel, with different colored eyes, and no mouth. I have yet to give him his body, though I've changed his eyes/tears' color and given him his wings (in the same place that azazel has his). I've come to get 3 problems: 1. I've tried giving him wings like azazel, but this results in the animation of the wings being clunkier than the actual angel transformation 2. currently, he only has wings when picking up items, and i have no idea how to give him wings on his body since the walking animation sprites are smaller than the angel transformation flying animation sprites 3. his eyes being a different color (similarly to the revelation costume) and his lack of a mouth make most costumes give him strange features, like almond milk giving him a small black eye and half a mouth

about the wings, if you want like the azazel wings try to copy from his wings and put in lost's spritesheet

@@SnoFitzroy Repentogon is a (frankly, very ambitious) issac mod that reworks the modding api to make certain things easier/possible to implement in mods. it also gives all modded charactes completions marks on the main menu and improves mod performance out of the box.

is there a way to code a completely new skin color for a character? costume sprites and all?

I'm guessing you want to replace the default skin tone. You can, I did for my upcoming mod "The Sheriff", and I did it by simply changing the color in the spritesheet. The downside was that I had to make player-specific costume sprites for every single costume in the game that assumed Isaac's skin tone instead of Sheriff's. I wrote a program to automate it, but it is a lot of work and really isn't worth it. The mod comes out in 2 days, I'm posting a trailer for it then. You can download it and look inside yourself to see.

there's no alternative program, though I know someone who is building one from the ground up. it's not done yet, I'll make a video on it when it is. as for the windows not retaining their layout, I think you're gonna have to just stick with the default layout. the program isn't great.
