Hi Andy, I've literally NEVER commented on any content or video on the internet in my life, but after watching your video I just wanted to say thank you. I have a degree in Machining Tool, Die & Mold Making from years ago and this equipment has really sparked my interest. I live in Alaska and I have a friend that has an Avid 4x4, but he's moving out of the country and was wondering if I was interested in putting it to use since he never had time to turn it into a side hustle. He has quite a few attachments with it as well. I only have a double car garage, but I'm sure that should do nicely. I've already watched a couple of your other videos, trying to gear up for a transition, and I plan on watching more! If you have any words of wisdom for us Alaskans, please let me know. Thanks again for your content!!!

Cool! Thank you for watching. It's great to hear you're enjoying my videos! Learning the cad/cam software is the hardest part but hopefully with your prior experience that won't be as hard for you! But just start making things you're excited to make and experiment. I've found that a lot of my questions are discovered when I'm creating and making things. Have fun creating!

Hi Andy, Thank you for everything you do to help and to give precious advices. My workshop is close to Bordeaux, France. I have a 4'x8' CNC, and I host a friend in my workshop who works on his large laser. Effectively, this kind of partnership improoves both of our businesses. Without advertising anything, we are close to 5000$ a month. Within the next months, I would like to upscale my business. All your ideas about this are more than welcome. And if ever you come to France, you are kindly invited to visit our workshop and to share a generous meal with us. Best regards, Timo

So great about making wholesale Items for the maker(s) community. That is definitely something I would be interested in is doing a set number of projects & pieces that another maker is wanting/needing & sending them on their way. That is truly a great Idea that I never even would have thought about. 💯 🎯

Great video! These CNC side hustle ideas are incredibly inspiring and practical. Custom signage and engraved cutting boards seem like excellent ways to start. Offering prototyping services is a fantastic way to support inventors and small businesses. I also loved the Cart idea! Thanks for sharing these valuable tips!

I don’t know anything about CNC, but since you asked, I believe that making custom trays is the field for me. I’m planning to buy AXYZ infinity 4000 or 4 x 4 cancam, still did not decide yet, I’m going all in 😂

I've been making engraved pictures with my laser for a couple of years and selling design files for lasers for about a year, but so far not really taken off enough to get me where I want to be. Once I have got the space prepared, I'm ordering a cnc. I do find this type of video inspiring. It can be hard working full time at something I hate with every cell in my body, but trying everything to both escape and have my own business.

I do CNC plasma metal cutting, I do signs wall art, flatpack fire pits, and I also offer custom welding and fabrication. Some other aspects are people need parts cut for production runs, I do well at farmers markets and with a handful of custom art that people want cut and I do the design work and send the customer a 3d model of what the product will look like before production begins on the piece. Having cad/cam experience helps with that. I started my business last November and started selling in January this year farmers markets alone it's possible to do 500 on average per single day market some are better than others, I'm still figuring it out. And being in Arizona it limits it to cooler months so October to May is about where it's best. We just started a website so that should hopefully add to the production and slower months. Thank you for making the video lots of solid information here.

I'd love to see a website where you can get help from fellow makers. For example if a laser owner wants to engrave a bunch of cutting boards, they could put up a "help wanted" for someone to make cutting boards. People could bid on the jobs, and the customer could have choice to what is important to them, price, quality, speed of service, and customer service satisfaction etc. Each person on the site could have a rating system so that everyone knows the quality of work that typically comes from that person if they are a seller, as well as how hard of a customer they may be if they are a buyer. Maybe make it so that the rating system moves people up the list if they are bidding on a job against other makers. This would encourage good work and customer service. The littler guys can also bid on jobs but their name would be further down the list and they may have to rely on having a lower price until their reputation is built up to move them up the list. So everyone has a chance to bid on a job if interested.

Hey Andy new viewer here what programing are you using and like u I'm not a programmer so to speak i find that the projects i have done are profitable but only on large scale if i were to do 10 or under the cost to pay a programmer doesn't make it profitable so if i can do that myself would be a great asset
