I’m actually the aunt of a beautiful biracial 4 year old girl who I adore. You have given me some wonderful ideas for Ayla’s hair and I have forwarded your videos to her mom and grandma so that they can start doing some things with her hair that will show her how to be proud of it and want to try different styles once she knows the basics, like you have taught here. I’m grateful to people that work to help others with different things and doing this was something that has inspired me to help my sister take control of our girls hair so that she can feel confident and beautiful. Thanks for being so great. 😘🙏

Humectant oils is what one needs to use and these oils are the ones that penetrate the hair shafts. Therefore, research humectant oils. I know olive oil and avocado oil are humectant for sure. Also, humectant creams are good. Aloe Vera is good for the hair and if the oil is not particularly humectant, well mix it with aloe Vera and the aloe Vera will pull the oil into the hair shafts because it's also known as a carrier. And thanks for some good solid advise 👍🏾it's great to have a British woman joining the solid USA few like Shanique Butyn. Adding your channel for sure cos was no waffling and good stuff.

What is your background? Are you a licensed cosmetologist? Just curious because there are so many hair care videos from folk that are only sharing their opinion based on their hair journey bcuz not all hair types are the same. Your advice sounds good. I would like to find someone else that knows about natural hair.

I know this is unrelated but what's your take on using hair grease to lock in moisture for 4c hair? I do the LCO/LOC method but my hair is extremely dry and brittle
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I’ve been hearing that people are back on the hair grease thing. It will help to lock in moisture that’s for sure, but then on the other hand, it will also block anything from getting into the hair. So if you tend to moisturise your hair regularly, then any further moisture will just sit on top of your hair and will result in lots build up. But check the ingredients in your moisturising products, to make sure they contain the right moisturising properties.

@@HealthyAfroHair yes I experienced this after only using it twice and hated it. Recently added a leave in conditioner into the loc method and my hair feels softer.

What do you recommend for dealing with premature greying?
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 3 жыл бұрын
I’d recommend looking into Ayurvedic herbs such Brahmi & Bhringraj powders which are known to help prevent and darken grey hairs. But also look at sage tea, black tea & rosemary tea too.

I'm dealing with a couple of bold spots, thinning hair and breakage at the moment. I had a lot of stress the last few months and did not took care of my hair at all. I used to have thick hair but now😔😔 and i'm afraid it's not going to come back😪. Do you have any tips?
@HealthyAfroHair
@HealthyAfroHair 3 жыл бұрын
Stress can definitely take it’s toll on our hair and there’s definitely been a lot going on these past 18months. But try and get into a habit of taking care of your hair and give things some time. With the bald spots, is that a type of alopecia? Have you had it before? Maybe visit a trichologist to see what they suggest. But check out my protein & moisture 101 video, as the description box has some product recommendations for treating breakage.

Grey hair is to do with health. When my diet gets very healthy, I notice my grey hair gets less. Stress will also encourage grey hair. Grey hair is however, a different matter to what this lovely woman is advising us all on how best to look after our hair to grow it to a long healthy length.

Try to keep your hair stretched as often as you can, keep it moisturised and protect the ends from any friction.

For me ensuring shedded strands are removed & b4 I section make sure the ends of the hair is detangled to ensure I'm not pulling the ends & causing more tangles, as well keeping my ends dusted. You can't totally prevent them but with me doing my hair I know how to lessen them.
