You can start lifting now. Focus on technique and build in weight as you go.

If the coach offers the kid, should he say he wants an "official visit" to tour the campus?

Is he is interested in that college. It also depends on when the offer is made. It mght be better to tell the coach that he would like an official visit and ask the coach when would be a good time. The date can be negotiated between the coach and player.

@@johnhiggins1435 Yeah, good point. Like make it a point to get out to the campus while theyre playing a game. I was just thinking that some coaches would make an off to the kid without offering the official visit to save a little money.

Ask for a visit for sure. Whether it’s an official visit or unofficial visit you want to tour it with the coaches, get a feel, and ask questions.

As always this guy has great content however a couple of tips to everyone.... #1 if you truly want to find out about the atmosphere like the real atmosphere not the fake one that they're going to put on on a"official visit" then do not go on a official visit... Everything is laid out for you and catered to you. If you want waffles steak and eggs at 5:00 in the morning for breakfast guess whats they're waiting for you when you wake up.... The players that they put in front of you like he's talking... Trust me they're going to talk it up cuz they want you there... It's good to find players but make sure they're not the ones coming to you... Like I said an official visit is all staged every bit of it! Now if you have 20 D1 offers from top schools and you're this there for a good time and get some free swag and food okay why the hell not just go ahead and milk it, waste everyones time. just know that they're putting on a show and what you see and what you're being shown and how you're treated is not necessarily what you're going to get when it's time to go to school keep that in mind.... Secondly let's say you're at the school and you're watching practice, and coach may get into it with a player that is just having a really bad day... And you just happen to come on the wrong day plain and simple life just happens hey IT HAPPENS... Keep that in mind don't just write them off and write the school off because you see small altercation or something that didn't sit well. If you really like the school but didn't like what you see may look at coming back another day.
