In Part 1 of this epic island survival adventure, Greg heads west to the Pacific with Finn and their new survivalist friend, Joe. Catch the first two days of the challenge, as the outdoor experts find a remote location and live off food from the land and sea. Along the way, they enjoy the beautiful scenery and breathtaking wildlife, including whales, porpoises, jellyfish, sea lions, seals, and MORE!
Learn More About Joe! - www.CanadianFunguy.com
Follow Joe on Instagram: / canadian.funguy
Greg is a self-taught survivalist from Canal Flats, British Colombia, who, since he was a boy, has read nearly every book on the topic. When he is not out in the wilderness, he is a professional dry-waller. He started his first bow drill fire when he was thirteen and spent the next forty years learning bushcraft and studying plants and edibles. He has even developed some of his own survival techniques and is a skilled hunter with both a bow and a slingshot.

People are so sick of polished celebrities with a PR team and a camera crew with scripted nonsense and drama. I love watching Greg. He reminds me of some of my favorite uncles and people growing up in Kentucky and camping in the Idaho mountains.

This is very cool. You're in my neck of the woods now. I'm just south of you but in Washington State on the Olympic Penn. I love Vancouver Island and I love the people also. There is so much for you to work with as for Gregg's bedding materials and food, you guys should be just fine. In all my years fishing the Straight of Jaun De Fuca and ocean, I've had Orcas all around me and I've never had an issue other than scaring away the salmon. They are very aware that you are there. Orcas really are a beautiful animal in the wild and up close. Hopefully a Baluga Whale comes up and checks you out. I've actually reached over the boat gunwale and touched them before they slowly moved away. Also, if you get jabbed by a cod's spine, cut out its eyes and use the fluid in them to treat your wound and helps relieve the pain. I'm really going to enjoy this series!

@toddfraisure1747

@@tabithadebolt1708 Normally not but there have been numerous sightings of them near the mouth of the Straights of Juan De Fuca. More common in the northern wasters of the Atlantic Ocean and the Artic waters off Alaska. There was even a recorded sighting in Oct. of 2021. Some reports say that was the first sighting in eighty years but that can't be correct because I've talked to many that have seen them like us. Both times we were fishing out of Neah Bay. As like in our sightings, most sightings do get officially reported.

Greg is such an awesome guy and content like this is so needed in times like this. But to Fowler, Greg Ovens, owners of the channel. I'm not mad and I'm not gonna name anyone, but it's a very bizarre situation to muted in live chat just because I said that people doesn't need to be told to like a video. I guess it's just the snowflake generation that struggle with critisism in general. I see this all the time with my kids in sports and activities. Critisism is always taken in a negative way because there's a culture where kids never face real life and are always cuddled. Anyways. It's probably a good idea to not have mods in live chat that acts like super karens and take everything as an attack on them as a person.

As always, I love what you do Greg! I've said it a time or two but you remind me of my Uncle Ray SOOO very much so. I told him about you but I'm not sure if he's ever watched a single episode. Next time I talk to him I will push him on your channel yet again sir! Lol.. Meanwhile? I learn everything I can from you! Thank you man.... 😊
