7 Days Wilderness Adventure with Canoe in the Pärlälvens Nature Reserve with @JohanGartner.
With loaded Canoes me, Matti, and our friend Johan Gärtner went in to the Pearl River Nature Reserve (Pärlälven in Swedish) for 7 days. Johan is a dear friend of us and a true outdoorsman and he also make KZbin videos.
Our original plan was to paddle along lake Karats and go fishing, hiking, brown bear scouting and living wilderness life.
Both of us brought our Seek Outside Cimarron tents with wood stoves. This time of the year it’s really nice using a hot tent.
The first days we were challenged with some rough winds but later on the weather turned out really good.
We had a great time and did a lot of campfire cooking, catch fish, get to see Northern lights and had a lot of laughs. I hope we can make more tours in the future.
As said Johan has his own KZbin channel and you’ll find his video from the trip there. He also make a lot of interesting outdoor videos both from the mountains but also from his area in south Sweden.

We are Matti & Stina and we live in Northern Sweden in a small place called Jokkmokk. Except for making videos we also run a small company called JOKKMOKKGUIDERNA and the WORKING HUSKY KENNEL. We offer guided outdoor tours in Swedish Lapland all around the year. During the winter we mostly do sled dog tours and in the summertime, it’s hiking tours, wildlife safaris, canoe, and packraft trips. We live year-round in Jokkmokk with our 50 Siberian Husky and 2 Border Collies.

That white pack raft Johan uses to catch 4 fish is an MRS Minnow. Here in America a person needs permit(s) even if you want to put your pack raft in a bath tub. Matti, you should show off that FireSteel & Striker to Johan next time he pulls out his Flint & Steel to start a fire. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

Riktigt bra input. Detta skall praktiseras! /Matti

Really enjoyed your video. I loved the purpose of the trip…have fun, don’t die. No need to apologize for the caution in the beginning, wind rules a canoeist. I speak English and loved hearing both languages. I wish we could get those tents and stoves in the USA. Do you think you could use a canoe paddle for a center pole? I also loved the traditional gear. There is no substitute for rolling over in bed and lighting a stove. Fair winds and full bellies. Lisa

Hej Lisa! I really enjoy your videos!!! 3 minutes with Lisa! Your attitude is fantastic! :-) I'm the most scared guide in the whole of northern Sweden! That's why I avoid heavy winds if it's possible. I don't need to search for the adventure. The adventure finds me anyway sometimes... The tent we are using, and our backpacks, are excellent stuff! It's from your side of the Atlantic sea. The brand is Seek Outside. We can sometimes find them over here. You know... The grass is always greener on the other side. ;-) / Matti in Jokkmokk

Hi! I am grateful for your help in understanding how to keep warm and have fun in cold environments, as I am ready to start winter camping this season. I just found your video “Keep your feet warm in winter” and there are links for the socks, but they don’t work here in the Pacific North West of the USA. Would you please help, perhaps by listing the manufacturer and the specific type or model of sock. I really enjoy your attitude and happiness in being in the far north, there is a unique beauty in this area of the planet. Thank you.

Hot tents, good company, tasty meals, coffee, Northern lights at night, & beautiful weather. 20:26; Someone is using a Soto Windmaster gas canister stove to boil water for coffee. 23:27; Water is really smooth/calm. 29:11; I'm hoping someone catches fish. I wanna see you gut/clean it then eat it. 36:55; Flint & Steel to start a fire, really old, old school. Now we know WHO😀😃😄😁😇 knows how to fish & who doesn't😀😃😄😁😁😁😁 49:47; Love the overhead drone footage of the canoe moving in the lake which is so smooth 51:14; I know you know each time you scoop water out of source without filtering it, it really pisses me off. I thoroughly enjoyed all the laughter throughout this video. 1:11:14; That is a Gomboy saw. I can tell because it's cutting on the pull stroke. 1:17; I especially liked the script that warns of clear cutting old virgin forests. I didn't blink, not once, as I was so captivated by the footage & conversations. Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.

@@azclaimjumper We recently bought some land adjacent to this nature reserve. Tragically, part of it was clear cut just two years earlier. There is some movement against clear cutting forestry in Sweden but it is still weak and growing only slowly. I guess future generations will understand better. But for the remaining virgin forest we cannot wait for that to happen. We must protect it already now.

Those tents look interesting. But extremely lightweigt with1100grams for the tent only. I can't help but think there must be some downsides if compared to a teepee type of tent or what? I have also had a look at NorTent lavvo4 and might go for that and a titanstove, and they have titanstoves with three windows so you can see the fire. Have you tried the nortent, if so which one is better do you think of the ones you use in this video and that kind of hot-tent?
