Day hiked Boulder Mail Trail to Death Hollow and back about 10 years ago. Just wanted to keep going once in DH, but.... Definitely inspired to do this as a multi day trip. Perhaps BMT to DH to base camp and do some exploring up canyon for a day or so, then down to Escalante. Love the way you take time to explore with no wildly ambitious itinerary. Absolutely wonderful camera work once again, showcasing the stunning scenery. Thank you so much for the views and our little "Utah Fix" for the night!

Thank you, this trip we did from the Hells Backbone road is a surprise itinerary, you never know how the water will be for the sections where you either swim or float, people come down with hypothermia in this section that stretches for a few days, and sometimes there is too much water, sometimes too little and no way of turning back. The ambition is in getting through all of this stuff without dying before you reach the BMT, where things get easier lol!

In my view gravity-fed water filtration is the only way to go. Those are some gnarled Jarl legs! Love the commentary and the dramatic scenery not visible from the road. Thanks for sharing :)
@NorwegianXplorer4 жыл бұрын
Haha, the legs took a beating yes, thanks Amos! I do really «like» the sawyer squeeze, I have moded it with the blue cap so it fits the smart bottle and I can set it up like an improvised gravity system. Normally I dont have time to wait for a gravity system on trail, then its good to be able to squeeze through a fast litre:-)
@BackpackerDiaries4 жыл бұрын
@@NorwegianXplorer I've found that 3L CNOC bags pair nicely with Sawyer and are more durable and easier to clean and scoop with than the Sawyer bags. I added a string to my CNOC bag so that it's easy to hang as a gravity system
