Hope you get this. Thought I’d let you know about the relief band. It’s an fda approved product for motion sickness. It’s a lifesaver for me. I get seasick in the shower it cures it even after you are feeling sick. It looks like a watch and it sends a mild electrical pulse from your wrist to the vagus nerve and you don’t feel sick. They are worth every cent!!

We've overlooked Central Park twice, the Promenade twice, and we're overlooking the Boardwalk next year. We can look at the ocean from anywhere else on the ship, so we don't have to see it from our room. We love people watching from above - walking through the park, strolling the Promenade, etc. Watching the parties will be a blast!!

@coasttocoasters Central Park is quiet. We never had a problem sleeping, but we don't go to bed until around midnight. I could sit on the balcony and read without a problem, too. If it rains, there isn't much activity in the park.

We had an inward-facing cabin overlooking the main avenue on Royal Caribbean, and the piped music on the avenue day and night caused us to request a cabin on a lower deck. To their credit, they gave us a porthole cabin on deck 2. Although the porthole was often swamped underwater, it was blessedly quiet.

On the Oasis they did not start making noise on the boardwalk until 10am. One night the water show ended at 10:45, otherwise It was fine noise wise. Well, one night there was some drunk loud talking, but that happens on ocean view as well.

We stayed overlooking Central Park and honestly I think I prefer that now. The balcony was a nice place to read and I spent nearly all my time on the solarium anyway when I wanted to look at the ocean

The Boardwalk balconies are my absolute favorite especially if I can get one farthest to the back. That way you see everything from the Boardwalk - to the ocean and wake - to the aquatheater. And if you’re on Allure the views are even clearer because the Abyss slide is not there. Just heaven!

I had a Central Park balcony as a compromise from having 4 people in one Oceanview balcony cabin. We could afford two adjoining rooms instead. My kids loved it because they got their own space and could see into the Central Park Cafe. They were watching crowd sizes to know when to swoop down for a cookie or some 'crisps'! The soot from the ship's funnel was the ONLY drawback we experienced with our Havana cabana stateroom on Carnival Horizon. I didn't mind it too much but my cruise compadre John did. We just learned not to leave any clothes out there to dry and the Havana pool-deck crew did a great job cleaning it up on the public decks and walkways. It depends largely on the prevailing winds during your cruise; it would be possible not to experience any.

My moms is the same way however the doors completely seal to the extent you practically don’t hear a sound and most importantly their black out curtains make your room next to pitch black especially when you bring two clips to completely seal the light out. My mom slept like a baby 👍

@@EmmaCruises I think the Celebrity Edge class is the biggest I would do because it's so spacious and the buffet is so huge, you would never feel crowded. Otherwise, we have Christmas Markets 10 day with Avalon on the Danube, then Oceania Vista next Sept and then back to Viking on the Iconic Iceland, Greenland and Canada in 2025.

I always liked and disliked that. Like my man, you're supposed to be an inaccessible authority figure in the distance, but at the sametime the friendliness is cool. I also always think "damn, sure delegating your responsibilities a lot eh?" As I felt like dude was always around during the parties.

Absolutely LOVE the boardwalk cabins and agreed that deck 11 is ideal - but yes I’d you want total privacy, they’re not the one haha! When you get to choose though, definitely recommend getting as close to the acqua theatre as possible as you also get an ocean view out the back 😉 Also very fun spot on Christmas cruises as Santa usually arrives on the ship in the morning so you get a great view ☺️

The Central Park rooms are much more quiet than the Boardwalk rooms. It is an affordable option to have a balcony and get fresh air and extra space.

We overlooked the promenade and had total privacy. If you just close your curtain it’s dark and private. The huge advantage is that you can people watch and watch the parade go by from your own room. It was perfect unless you want to look at the ocean. It’s also great for sea sick people! I’d do it again.

i went on symphony last summer in the caribbean and it was really cool. i’m glad you saw hairspray, that was absolutely my favorite show i’ve seen on any ship, i didn’t even know what it was before i saw it on a whim one night, and fell in love, so i watched it a second time the next night lol. it’s actually gotten me into the musical as a whole and i now love the soundtrack and even watched it on broadway back in april!

I'm a light sleeper, but I have a bluetooth headband that I use paired with my phone and a sleep app. It drowns out my husband's snoring so I think I'd be ok. lol

I prefer this cabin class when I'm sailing on Oasis Class ships. The key is to book the last closest cabins to the Aqua Theater on Deck 9 or higher. You get the Aqua Theater shows and an ocean view.

We were in a balcony overlooking the boardwalk as well on Harmony OTS last year. But we were at the highest deck (14 IIRC) just below about where minigolf was. I mentioned it before on an earlier vid/short, about the soot from the engine stacks. Other than that it was cool.

Honestly the ocean view balcony are a bit overrated, at least if you’re sailing in warm weather. It can get hot, sunny, windy, wet and noisy. I found that I don’t spend much time out there. I was in a boardwalk balcony cabin on Allure recently and I loved it. I could watch the Aquatheater shows, hear the music playing outside, people watch, and still see the ocean, it was quite lovely. I already booked a Central Park cabin on Harmony and very much looking forward to it.

With a cabin like this and ships this huge, I wonder why anyone would pay for a cruise. You can’t see the sea from your room, or most places on the ship, you can’t even feel it moving…why not just go to a resort on land??

It's actually really hard to find a resort that has 11 restaurants, all you can eat, free drinks (at least free water), free high quality entertainment, kids club, parties through the whole night and happens to swim to another city overnight for 1,700 USD. So yeah, I get why people do it, the overall package offer is just pretty good. That's not to say luxury resorts are bad though, they are just a bit different.

Do they ever have sheer curtains in addition to the light-blocking ones? I think I would like that as an option, to still be able to see out but making it slightly more difficult for others to see in!

I loved the inside balcony on the Allure sister ship. I was on the Boardwalk as well and the noise was not too bad. I liked the people watching, the fresh air, and the idea that if for some reason something was to fall of the balcony for some reason it might not be lost forever.
