10+ items is often realistic for people in other countries, where convenience food is too expensive. Having all these shortcuts and cans and spice packets is a luxury. In my country, frozen vegetables are extremely expensive. I have no other choice but to make things from scratch, with 10+ items. You don't really realise how privileged you are to be able to save so much time just because you have access to so many convenience foods.

Love that you've taught your children how to make simple dishes on their own and gave them the responsibility to do it. Teaching them how to be family helpers and future self-sufficient adults 😊 Parent win! * Mindy, I'd love for you to get that sparkle back in your eyes... you can do it girl!

We keep frozen pizzas/other frozen food/some box mixes in the house specifically for nights like your Sunday night- sometimes, you don't want to cook anything, even if it's easy, and having those easy options means you can avoid getting takeout again. Plus, you can always doctor things up, like you did with the soup!
@heatherhillman1549Ай бұрын
We have frozen pizza fridays...take out has been so expensive so we just doctor up the frozen ones :)

To make your beef tips more flavorful, put a paper towel under the lid of your crock pot to absorb the moisture instead of allowing it to drip back into the pot where it will water down the flavor.

Loved this. Your sausage (adding fennel, Chicago girl here)and peppers would be great over mashed potatoes. I'd add mushrooms and half slices of onions with corn starch slurry. Knew right away why you added vinegar to your blueberry muffins. My mom would always add buttermilk to every muffin and most cake mixes. When there wasn't any fresh buttermilk at a local store, she'd grab vinegar when I was a child, she hated going to multiple stores. Funny by the time my son was born she circumnavigated the entire Chicago area as well as nearby suburbs to grab the best deals with my toddler as her wingman.

Easy recipe wish I had known a long time ago....take hamburger, mix in a little bread torn up, and chopped onion. Form into patties and put the crockpot. Take 2 cup measuring glass cup and six beef boullion cubes and miscrowave it. Let cubes dissolve. add a little cornstarch to it and stir until the thickness you want. I use about 2 teaspoons probably. Pour it over the meat. Cook for about 5 hours and it is so good. Add a can of green beans or corn and done..😊

Omgoodness, Mindy❣️ I miss marching band, the competitions and all the things so much. I had 2 kids go through the program, 7 years for each, and it is truly amazing. I got those very familiar goosebumps when you shared the video clip. That program teaches so much more than just reading music and playing an instrument. I got goosebumps just watching our band take the field. We had 265 members, and believe me, we covered that football field. It was glorious❣️ Thank you for sharing this along with the “vlog” style video and recipes. This is my favorite kind of video. 😊❤

You are so smart in so many ways, but especially for curtailing smart phone usage for your kiddos.
