A group of 6 friends bareboat charter a catamaran sailboat for a week in the British Virgin Islands. We brought along the fly rod and had some fun catching a variety of species in the saltwater.

Headed to the British Virgin Islands in June for nine days of sailing and fishing. This video was great. Helped me decided which rods / setups to bring. I had no idea that tarpon was in the mix. I think I'll fly line out the 12wt for trolling. Thanks for the great video.

Nice vid! On my way back now! Next time hit up Kevin with Anegada Fly Fishing. I’m not rich (fly fishing guide and trout bum from Utah), Kevin’s day trips are reasonably priced. Kevin taught me a lot on how to find and spot bones. I’ll afford one day guided with him again this year, then go explore Anegada on my own.

I'm going the first week of August, what kind of leader is best for trolling? All I have is Tarpon and Bonefish Leader so far.

We are doing a Sunsail monohull bareboat May 4-11. I'm the captain and have purchased a bvi fishing license. I plan onn renting equipment. Does every passenger on our boat need a fishing license even if they aren't fishing? Info is confusing online.

Sweet trip, too bad you couldn't find the bones.

Definitely a bummer, ran into some other anglers that went out with a guide and they didn't see any either

Dang that’s awesome. I went to st john last year and they told me you cant eat fish there bc the have some disease from the coral. Did you hear about that?
@PhelpsontheFly2 жыл бұрын
Hmm that's something I didn't hear about. I think they might have been pulling your leg. Some locals are very protective of their fishery and don't want outsiders to affect fish populations by eating them.

Have to worry about that with oceanside cuda and some grouper a few other big predatory fish. locals will still eat them because they taste amazing but can get you really sick for a while.
