❤😊, caught up! In 2014 the boat was not running that far up the lake because it was almost dry... I hiked down on bear ridge trail and out on the trail that followed the west side of the mostly dry lake. It is really neat that you got to hike south bound. Thank you again for taking us along on your journey.

I did the same hike down there in 21’ when the lake was super low as well. I’ve been hiking nobo in these videos not south? Thanks so much for watching and glad you’re enjoying them….

What a great hiking day! Cold start; Clear skies. Ran into the Codgers and Hazel by sheer lucky timing. Caught a special boat run into VVR, again great timing. And you showed us around VVR, i can see why you like it there. Looks like your birthday stay was good timing, too.

Thanks my friend and I had spoken to them a few times in the spring so I knew I would most likely see them but honestly wasn’t sure where or when I would. Yeah VVR is an amazing place when you’re out there in the wilderness for so long…

First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉! Very cool you ran into the Codgers. What a treat. Boy that trail is a gift that keeps on giving ( in a good way)!

Thanks so much Susan and yeah we had talked a few times this spring and we figured we’d see each other but just had no idea where or when. Really miss hiking with those guys because I had a blast last year finishing the trail with them…

Great thing about the first freeze is definitely getting rid of mosquitos.

Definitely true although part of why I chose this time of year to hike up there is it’s mostly past the bug season so their a non issue

Yeah it was great to see them for sure.. if I had been ten minutes earlier I would have turned off the JMT to go get the ferry and they would have just passed by and I would have missed them. Really great to see them

Happy Belated Birthday! I was wondering if you'd bump into the Codgers. So cool! Lake Edison looking fantastic. We've driven out to VVR and hiked out to the end of the lake. It's so beautiful. Looking forward to hiking there on the PCT! Another great video of another great day Marmalade. 🌻💛

Hey thanks so much! Don’t need anymore birthdays lol.. yeah we had spoken (the Codgers) a few times on the phone this spring about seeing if we would meet on trail and I knew I should see them but didn’t know which day. The crazy part is if I was ten minutes faster I would have taken the turn off to the ferry and they would have passed by not knowing I was just there…. I’m so glad you have been out there and hiked in the area. It is a really pretty area and my favorite stop on that section of the JMT/PCT. Can’t wait for you to hike it and experience it yourself!

I was wondering where and when you’d cross paths with the codgers. I knew you were traveling the same basic path. What a nice surprise to see your old friends from last year. VVR is a great place to get off trail and get some chores done and load up on town food. Thanks for sharing your adventures in the sierras

Happy Birthday!🥳 VVR is the perfect stop in the Sierra and my fave zero! . The water level of Lake Edison looks great. When I was there it was sooo low…A super dry year. 😊 This really makes me want to be there right now! 👏🏻👏🏻Awesome that you saw the Codgers and Hazel too! Another Great vid thank you! ☮️

Marmalade, How many times are you going to run into the Codgers? The Vermillion boat was shut down when I went by two years ago, so I just hiked on. Anyway, your videos have given me inspiration to hike the JMT which is probably the best part of the PCT (which I completed in 20204 (with a knee bigger than a 16" softball btw)). Keep sending your videos.
