Hey friends, great video. I live in Portugal, so I was wondering if your route is an official route that I can download, or you created it yourself. And, by the way, it's comforting to read that you call it bikepacking, and you are actually doing bikepacking (off-road bicycle touring for those who seem to label all types of bike touring as bikepacking). Regards.

It is an official route, I’m biking the Caminho from Lisbon, and from Porto I’m biking the costal caminho route. They are official to find in the app “camino ninja” and I will also have it linked in my bio

I spent five weeks walking the Frances Camino and all the walkers I met were sick and tired of cyclists pushing past us on narrow trails. You can see in the video how narrow many of the singletrack are and cyclists yell for hikers to step off the trail for them to pass.

As a biker I have quite another experience of this, all the people I have met along the way have been so kind and friendly and we have had a lot of great conversations and wishes of luck on our journey. Actually we have met more pilgrims who were jealous of our bikes and wanted to do it themselves by bike. I think this is about the energy you bring to your environment and if you are kind to people they will be so to you as well. If you just spoke to the bikers you met along the way, you had had another perspective on their journey.

Never experienced this attitude as a cyclist or a walker. Considering the concept of the walk, it seems quite a negative thing to be angry like that, and not in keeping with it at all.

We just came back from doing the Porto to Santiago by bike in early April. I can totally see how as the trails gets busier in peak season, cyclists and hikers would be competing for trail space.
