I lowkey love this setup!. Let the hole keep getting blown lower and lower and just fill in with wall. Spikes/blade traps/turrets. A Killhole that just tunnels further and further down ,just gotta keep adding ladders. thats why i love this game, always some unique and fun new base to figure out. keep up the great content!

There were such ideas floating around when devs first introduced the flame trap, but then they heavily nerfed its damage against zombies because God forbid players have fun with new mechanics.

Maybe instead of just digging down for your whole cellar, just dig deeper under your trap door. Maybe put spikes or a trap into the hole within a hole. Because unless you add some railings, you’re going to back up one of these days and break your ankle

For the base, you should keep the ladder but add a roof above the zombies heads so they continuously fall down. That'll make the zombies keep climbing yet stay in the pit for throwables and shooting.

A potential upgrade to the base could be to open the entrance to 2 blocks wide and use a double door for the drop down. That way you could drop them in the pit easier. This base design is cool.

I wonder how it would work in this setup using a stun baton with the repulsor mod. The zombie approach angle would have to be different but you could damage and knock them into the pit.

PS, the pipe pistol and pipe shotgun animations break whenever you reload too quickly. It's still loading the "drawing weapon" or the "finished firing" animation whenever you start reloading, so it messes it up graphically.

Possible idea: add a pressure plate a step back from the bars; stepping back will open the floor-door? Reduces need to mess with finding the door between all the zeds.

MAN, I really like the screen/glass porch at the Paciotti residence (the first POI you did). I agree, the whole house is gorgeous! I've not run into that one before either, I'd be living there for sure if it was anywhere near convenient. And that bum shot - OUCH! Also wow, skip from a stone axe to a tier 6 nailgun! That is super cool.

The ladder works very well, if you wanted to change how it works you could put a hole in the wall at the top of the ladder with a pressure plate attached to a dart trap shooting out through the hole

You could put a blade trap on the ceiling for the optic of just watching the zombies get fed into it by their friends climbing below them. I know you don’t have electricity but it can be an idea for later.

I don't think there's anything wrong with having the zombies loop, especially once you make the pit deep enough to where they take fall damage. It can be beneficial to have them on a loop, but that might get more difficult to do once demos start showing up. Also, is it cheaper resource-wise to make ammo or to make throwables? You might need to do the math since melee isn't going to be a viable option much longer.

I should have posted this sooner. Alter the door for it to work better. You noticed that they were still standing there when the door had been opened. If you keep the hinges in the same space but face the door down when closed, then open the door for them to run over, close it to dump them. When closed they won't have a door frame to stand on.

I wonder if poles or something would work better than the door for dropping zombies. Something they see for pathing but can't pile up on. Also... A wall of ladders combined with a couple turrets (junk, shotgun, or SMG) might keep the pit cleaned out while you fight at the door... But cops/demos would still be a PITA

You should dig a hole in the pit so the zombs will help you dig. And it will occupy some of them. That way you'll have less to repair. Unless you have a overflowing amount on cobblestone then disregard.

I think you could utilize powered doors with a trigger plate. Put the trigger plate one block back from the front of your cage so that every time that you have to back off the cage, you trigger the door automatically.

Blade traps and auto turrets in the pit for end game. Have a trigger plate connected to the door to automatically open it if Zs get too close. Also ofset a sledge turret with fire mod to knock some into the pit?

Try using a building with the gas fire as a base. You can turn off/on the fire when needed. Maybe a one off video?

Maybe ladder up one more spot and hatch to create the loop. For cops putting a wall shield in your normal 1-2 spots wouldn't take a lot. Endless ammo play would get a little boring, so I prefer the loop.
